economy why not thing be cheaper like jp servers

Why is there so much inflation in the markets and everything costing so high. You can really buy stuff you need cause everyone wants to jack up the price. i find that really bothering me that I have to pay so much for something that isn`t even worth that much. on the Japanese sever I was on titan the economy was good just was not high at all. it is cheaper than the NA servers. so I would want to know what the people about this.

disclamer: This is not me but a bunch of people I have talk to today.

Player based economy means that players set the prices. If SE wanted to make them more lower and even, then they'd have to force prices, which players would not enjoy.

Also take into account supply and demand.

Let's start with this. If the item is actually selling at a price, then that's what it's worth. It may not be worth it to you, but that item is worth that much.

If things are expensive, that doesn't just mean it costs a lot to buy things. It also means you earn a lot of gil when you sell things. You make larger amounts of gil. This generally balances out.

The differences between servers only really have an effect when it comes to game generated gil. If you rely on game generated gil, then yes, you're going to struggle on NA servers compared to JP ones. This also means, however, that prices that are set by the game are incredibly cheap. A house on an NA server is much cheaper than a house on a JP server, despite them costing the same.

Generally, the more crafters and gatherers on a server, the lower the prices. On Balmung, the largest population NA server, we have a lot, so the prices are about 1/3 of those on the smaller NA servers. I have heard the prices on Japanese servers are more reasonable, but I haven't checked to see if they are similar to Balmung's or if they are even lower. I would be interested in hearing more about the similarities and differences from those on other servers.

It is tied to the amount of crafters and gatherers, if you have alot of them (which they are on High populated servers) then you will see more undercutting and more of the same product being sold on the Marketboard. When there are more crafters competing against each other to sell a product, this is when you will see prices dropping.

When I used to play on the Japanese servers, almost every player that I met had already leveled atleast one crafter and gathering class or all of them, in the Western servers, I have noticed that alot of players do not even bother with crafting and gathering (nothing wrong with that) which in turn results in a small group of the server being in control of what is being sold and for how much.

On Carbuncle server it's really really rare to see someone who has not leveled their crafting jobs to 60. I can only think of 3 people around me who don't level to 60 yet.

Prices are not high at all. They are only high when there is a new item / gear. Because only a few people have the time to gather mats and make them.
But after about a week, the prices are 1/5 the original price.

It depends on what you consider cheap too.
I don't know other server's prices very well, but on Carbuncle 1 Fieldcraft Demimateria III is about 20k.
    One Mastercraft is about 12k.

1 Jet black dye is about 30k.
All other dyes are very cheap, except maybe Pure White which is maybe 12k?

I am not sure what items would be good for comparison.

Greed is what it comes down to.... for some reason people think by setting the prices high that it would somehow allow them to buy more stuff.... however, in reality setting the prices that high would only cause more stuff to be sold at a higher price. This can also be said if everything was set to lower values then you will still end up having about the same purchasing power as before. So either way high or low makes no difference.

Money in of itself has no value... we give it value.

Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
