1000 Character Limit makes no sense

In any and every forum I've ever visited in my life, I've never seen anything less than a 5000 Character Limit set for new posts and replies. Square Enix has created a VERY deep game with extremely in-depth mechanics backed up by formulas and mathematical foundations.

When an individual writes a post about this game, be it feedback, or a suggestion for rotations and mechanics, there is NO WAY, if they want to provide any actual substance to a post, that they'll fit into 1000 characters.

PLEASE Raise the limit to 3000, at the very least, so people don't have to reply constantly to their own threads just to fit their thoughts.

It even makes less sense since you're fully allowed to just post 1k characters and then edit it to whatever you want. Honestly not sure there's an upper limit to that.

Blame the trolls on the Beta test forum for it, as these posting restrictions did not exist until just before phase 3 of the Beta, when there was a huge influx of new testers who were a little too zealous in their posting, and the test forum became inundated with spam, "hello world!" posts and flaming. So SE implemented similar (and even stricter) posting restrictions there to bring some order to the chaos.

Then, when ARR went live and the Beta forum was put out of it's misery, SE must have decided to prevent any chance of it happening again by adding posting restrictions here to the 1.0 forum as well (which became the ARR forum). It's not that hard to simply post a few lines and then go back and edit them - at the very least it actually makes you think about what you're posting, rather than simply posting "off the cuff".

Either way, once again it's a case of, "this is why we can't have nice things" - a few idiots spoiled it for everyone else I'm afraid.

I'd like to suggest they up the character limit as well. I'm constantly having to go through a re-edit things which is extremely annoying. You can often see people posting continuations when they don't know they can edit past the limit which doesn't read well and when they do see they can edit and fix those strings of continued posts, the thread looks trashy. It's not beta anymore and you have to have a paid account to post. Time to up the limit (or just remove it).
