Please don't go down that route. I have met people claiming that the pokemon ninetales is a ripoff of naruto.
Also everything that has ninjutsu in it is a naruto ripoff apparently. Naruto didn't really add anything new other than making ninjas louder and more visible (AKA: Less ninja-like)

Thank you, for all of the people immediately stating that this is an obvious naruto reference it amazes me how few people know that the giant frog/snake/slug summoning in that show were pulled from a very old story called The Tale Of The Gallant Jiraiya.

(Note: it only amazes me from a personal standpoint because I love looking in to the inspiration for things and it's so easy to find~)

The characters Jiraiya, Tsunade, and Orochimaru in Naruto are literally pulled right from that story. Naruto copied that~ so any time there is giant frog summoning in a game or in anime we are actually copying the old story of Jiraiya, not Naruto~ even though Naruto is the more well known story in this time period.

Heck if you look up old paintings of Jiraiya you may notice he even does the signature pose the ninja on the xi frog summon does, also in xi that was just a job specific emote, all classes had them.
