Thread: about "wait till V2.0"

something thats bugging me actually

people keep saying wait till V2.0 is released and so on.

how many people who have said that CHECKED the road map?

cause V2.0 isnt for another 12 months MINIMUM!

then account for set backs, delays, natural occurances, budgetary delays, marketing delays and so and so on you could be looking at 15-18 months.

i see "wait till 2.0" mostly in reply to pleas for more content, so heres my view.
JUST ASUMMING IN THIS INSTANCE, 1.20 and 1.21 are already released, you expect us to wait a year without more content until V2.0 is released.

try to use "wait till 2.0" a little more constructively.

just wish people would sway away from "wait till 2.0 is out" and actually give people information. its like you go to the doctors and have this conversation.

doctor: well your terminally ill
you: whats wrong with me?
doctor: well you'll have to wait untill we find a cure for me to tell you

why not just say what the illness is?

translating that to FFXIV

poster 1: i want more content, blah blah blah, cry cry cry
poster 2: wait until 2.0 is out

it should be...

poster 2: well 1.20 has new content and features being brought it, theres a roadmap under "this" link, check it out and you will see that they have alot of work but my the time 2.0 is out it'll be a whole new game and we have more patches coming before then and new content being brought in before 2.0 as well.

If they can streamline Party and Linkshell recruitment, and give an incentive to randomly form Parties with strangers (namely foreign players whom you may not be able to normally converse with outside of the limited in-game language system)...

...then I think that the early-game problems of new players will be much more easily dealt with, in addition to it being easier for end-game players to find active LSs regardless of server pop (and the game will seem in much better and maintainable shape, IMO)

They don't expect us to wait a year without more content. They only expect us to read the documents released before bitching about the dev roadmap.

I don't think Secret addressed the OP to the devs, but rather to people that reply to other forum posters' cry for content with the idea that they shall be satisfied when 2.0 is here. I think he/she's trying to say that plenty of content has been announced by SE for previous patches and therefore is expected to be coming before 2013.

But of course, I could have misread his post.
