    After reading most of peoples discussion may I add this without getting roasted LOL


    There is really no need to continue using elements from other MMORPGs when you can create your own here and let the player shape themselves after the game and not continuing to server the player in hopes of not loosing them.
    No one here goes and buy a Street Fighter game because it reminds them so much of a Mortal Kombat gameplay am I right?
    Same should be said here.
    I understand that FFXI used alot of elements from Everquest but it still managed to hold its own ground and be unique.
    FF14 can do so aswell.
    There is a community gamers are here because they need breaks from their so called "main" mmorpg. How many times have we not heard people say "I'm here because this game reminds them so much of world of warcraft".
    To me that alone is marketing failure do you go to Burger King because it reminds you so much of Mcdonalds?
    Its only a matter of time before a part of these gamers mentioned will leave because this game is getting closer and closer to what they where already playing before that made them leave their first game int he first place and the hardcore FF fans including myself will be left here with many of you guys because Yoshi - P doesn't seem to get the right information about what one part of their customer group actually want.

    Not to dwell to much in the past but 1.0 had more unique features that should have remained with 2.0 instead of beeing removed because someone wants to server an audience something that is already out there but in a final fantasy envoirment.

    Last time I checked Fates where a thing from Guild Wars and not FFXIV.
    Duty is not a FFXIV it feels more world of warcraftish to connect players from different servers in order to make sure people can play together and always manage to find a group
    (I know its good because no one wants to wait to do something but Duty Finder is very unpersonal its usually people who are silent and run through things without saying a word and you might not see thoese players again ever)
    I don't have solutions I'm just expressing what is wrong with certain things of the game imo.

    Final Fantasy XI is and still remains as Square Enix first MMORPG flagship when it comes to content, no need to make the game similiar but use elements from that instead of World of Warcraft, Guild Wars etc. (Weapons and mobs don't count)

    I rather have beseiged, dynamis,salvage, einherjar, limbus etc thoese felt more genuine and unique than having stuff that I can find in almost any other mmorpg.
    Just an example: Is it really so hard hard to make a boss Blink in a certain color where the only way to kill or continue to the next phase of the boss is through a limit break, magic attack ranged attack etc?
    How about more mechanics and puzzles in dungeons so we don't fry our brains with these 20 minute expert roulettes who are the same thing over and over again?

    Diadem as something from FF11 was a nice attempt but it resulted in a huge failure due to how the rest of the game is built. It broke the whole current state of the game when it came out.
    It was unbalanced and wrong and people now just join it to farm certain gathering items needed but thats about it. Its a dead zone because of this strange ilvl system that we have.

    Certain ideas that come from the dev team really need to be run through the playerbase correctly.
    Mid-core content is really needed for this game or it will be Yoshi-P and the Dev team themselves that will destroy their own game not us.

    We are still here playing because we love Final Fantasy and Square Enix. If we didn't want a change we would all just quit without voicing any opinions trying to change things.

    Again no one said make FFXI 2.0 with this game but no one said use make it use everything from other MMORPGs and not FFXI 2.0 either.

    I'm almost positive a huge portion of the players are not familiar with FFXI and to them alot of revised FFXI content would be new and exciting to them cause it has never been done before.

    As long as there is a thought process behind it and done correctly ofcourse

    ps: I still would like to see world bosses beeing introduced that are force popped through items that we need to obtain through old dungeons that need to be combined with stuff that needs to be gathered and then a crafter needs to make a pop item so we can go to location X on the world map to pop this boss. Something a whole alliance can join and you can make it an FC or a LS event.

    Right now we are pretty limited to an 8 people primals or 4 people parties and I understand we have the 24 man dungeon raid but thats more of a silly chore because of the weekly cap on items etc.

    Its strange how Heavensward didnt even provide more 8 man endgame dungeons like ARR did. Its more enjoyable and fun bringing more people with you.
    We are playing an MMORPG after all. If I wanted to solo things i could play The Wither or Skyrim honestly.

    1. I preferred the rate of ilvl increase in 2.X to 3.X

    2. Keep experimenting with content like Diadem and PotD

    3. Keep S ranks as they are, but can A ranks be more like treasure maps? Instead of maps you have lures and bait though.

    4. More cross class stuff, just a little bit of build variety.

    5. Interesting but standardized stats. Like strength ups physical damage, dex ups crit chance and amount, vit gives more HP and faster TP regen. Give everyone the old STR or VIT dynamic that tanks had, rather than taking it away.

    make a proper item level sync, I don't want to see any phase skips and aoes which take 10% of your max HP.

    Remove all rewards if you do content unsynced.

    Provide a more iterative approach to ilvl jumps (currently it's jump high and sit, rather than slowly climbing stairs)

    Provide horizontal progression
    Re-work secondary stats to be more interesting

    it's not uncommon, or a bad thing, to adopt good ideas from other games within the genre. Many games do this (and many industries adopt ideas from their competitors). You can take an idea from a competitor and make it work with your game, and/or you can improve upon it. That's sort of the basis of how our society progresses.

    2. Expand on Hunts to allow FC to have something to work towards that isn't just a barrage of players killing X target. Perhaps with the FC points you can obtain a "Unique Hunt" where each hunt is based on recommended size and IL of party, from 4-8-16-24. Obtain the Hunt and now as a team you can work together to find all the hints to unlock the Hunt.

    It would be something like FC airships where players can input what's needed to progress through the Hunting Phase, which could vary from killing certain mobs in a Dungeon, or gathering certain items in the open world, or even talking to certain NPC with a special "say command" to execute the next part of the Hunt.

    When you get all the necessary pieces of the hunt, gather all parties member to the requires location which would be time based but simplsitic day/night, maybe later on weather would influence the Hunts appearance and if everything is right then the FC members in the area will recieve a KI that they will then use to enter the same instance to fight the hunt Target.

    The Limitations of the content would be based on your FC points but also your FC rank, at lower ranks you start with 1 Hunt max but at the highest rank you can have up to 3 Hunt targets going on at once. This would allow smaller or even larger groups to communicate with one another to setup times to do hunts if everyone can't be around at the same time or if lower IL members need gear that they can get from lesser Hunts.

    3. <_< Just turn Verminion into a 3v3 Pokemon like game. Have each players choose 3 minions as their main and then each minion can equip up to 3 minions each, so in total you would be using 12 minions.

    Your Main minion would determine the first two abiltiies, their main attributes, type and weakness. The first 2 equipped minions would each add an ability to your minion and the 3rd minion would add a passive ability to your minion.

    So each minion would have "main stats" "ability equipped" and "Passive ability"

    They could expand on it where certain "Main" minions don't follow the exact 2 ability 1 passive equipped rule where some main minions could have 4 abilities already and only equip 1 minion that offers a passive or a minion that has 2 active abilities but equipped minions only give them passive abilities.

    I think it would streamline the game more while giving players more freedom over customizing their party setup. With only 3 fighters to worry about and the rest of the minions acting as support, it would make the fights quicker than the slow paced aspect of it now.

    4. If Sea becomes part of the next content, expand it with the airships and add 2 more airships to the FC airships, allowing for players to augment their airship into a boat or even Submarine, like in FFV.

    Rather than make this a time based content where players have to wait to see what reward they get, instead make it a 30 min instance where players work together to determine the success of the trip. When the airship returns the only cooldown will be on the players who used the Airship, or rather than a cooldown, just make a level like concept and give players token they are free to use until they run out with them getting a new token every 12hrs but the cap will be set to 14 or 7 days to prevent players from stockpiling to use in future airship/ship/submarine content.

    5. Streamline Treasure Maps or create different timers for different levels. As it stands now making all maps the same cooldown pretty much causes the lower tier maps to be rather worthless in the grand scheme of things. I feel players should at least in 4.0 be able to hold as many and stack the lv 50 maps but have the lv 60 maps remain part of the lv 70 maps. This would give gatherers something to have fun with, gathering a bunch of maps and then spamming them as they please, but seeing as these are lv 50 maps they wouldn't be as worthwhile as doing the once a day gather lv 60/70 maps.

    Or make it where players can gather as many of the lv 50 or under maps they want but make it where the real reward is using it on your GC platoon since they will get more worth out of it compared to you using it yourself. Add unique rewards that can only be found through this method but also have the time taken between each map represent the lv of the map, so lv 40 maps could be 30 mins, 45 1hr, 50 2/3/4hr based on tier, 55 be 8hrs, the 60's would be 9/12 hours and the specialty Unhidden Leather Map could be 24hrs.

    1. HORIZONTAL PROGRESSION. You said before some time around 2.+ that to make horizontal progression, you need to have a good vertical foundation. You have done that, wonderfully even. Stats are so well-balanced and everything that everyone is basically the same. There are no builds, no gear differences or anything. Add talents, passives, whatever. Add gear set bonus. Add stat customization in whatever form. Just make us different from one another and still be relevant for most content. Yes, this will be a huge undertaking in terms of balancing and all that. But you guys have already shown how good you are at number crunching, you can easily do this.

    2. Glamour Retainer/Amoire. Anything place in this retainer will be used for glamour only and cannot be worn be it generally glamour items or those green armor from dungeons. Once placed here, they will be for glamour only unless removed. We are running out of storage with all the glamour gear we store for every occasion.

    3. HD textures. This is very very very simple to implement. I dont care about PS3,PS4 and PC masterracing or anything. Have downloadable HD textures for all platforms. We choose if we want them or not. No amount of 3rd party programs (ReShade, SweetFX, Geodesato, etc) can compare to a dev made HD textures. Make it happen please. Some of us here have top-end systems and yet we are stuck with these textures from a decade ago.

    4. Keeping old content "fresh". Right now were forced to run old content from relics, story or whatever. But regardless of the end, the means is still the same. We're forced to run 20-30 min dungeons that doesnt change no matter how many times you run it. Solution: Randomized effects to make things difficult or easy. Now, how does this work? Say you run WP, why not add a random spawning Tonberry on steriods? He is on perma sprint, haste, protect, etc and gives your party a hell of bad time. Or how about puddles of poison spawning out of nowhere? A boss chest suddenly turning to a mimic and will give tomes or something better in general individually to every member when killed. Or a chocobo that heals and buffs your party. A boss that got angry (buffed up stats) because he bump his toe on a rock. A mutated kraken that has bigger tentacles. Possibilities are endless, and will give every dungeon a "not the same run" feel. Now, all we have to do is tick a small checkbox in DF for this to be implemented in our runs if we choose to do so. Rewards should also be increased, in terms of tomes, drops, gil, exp, etc. if we choose to run randomized dungeons.

    5. Bis Gears should be spread across all content. If #4 is implemented then all the more reason to spread it. And top-end of the BiS, maybe 5 ilvls higher than the rest, should only be available to hardest raid content. I dont raid a lot but there should an incentive to being the best raiders in the world. While some people think of this as alienating the masses, I think of those top raiders as inspirations for the rest of us. If they did, why can't we?

    I've read almost all the post on this forum so here are a few of my own.

    1. My number one request can we please get an elemental wheel I would love to augment my spear with lightning.

    2. Change parry to an equivalent version of determination but for defensive purposes, for example have this yet to be renamed parry serve for both parry/block/dodge chance and potency.

    3. Can all limit breaks be unique for each job not just the lb3.

    4. Expand on the job soul crystals, they are currently at ilvl30 let's bump them up to say ilvl50 allowing us to gain skills from more than just the 2 each job currently gets.

    Just a few ideas.
