Oh god what if they got "that guy!" D= will all our future heroes be green roes? From what I remember from a Interview Yoshi-p didn't say they don't have the funds to hire someone. The problem was that they need 2 skilled developers who can speak japanese to do battle content and it seems finding 2 skilled developers have proven difficult. They don't want to train someone from the ground up because that could impact the schedule for releasing content..
I don't get why that's so hard to find, You would think they would poke around on Nexus mods, or any other gaming mods and development sites. They got people absurdly well at creating content, fluff/vanity, and world content for numerous games. Hire them to create outfits/glamour's and vanity, so your full team can focus on combat programming. From what I remember from a Interview Yoshi-p didn't say they don't have the funds to hire someone. That or you think if they wanted to actually pony up on releasing more combat programming, they would just find 2 highly skilled developers and an interpreter. Make it a Intern job, I know a lot of Japanese majors on our college campus who would jump on that job in a heartbeat. for little or no pay.

I remember reading in a interview that part of the revenue goes towards funding of other SE products. Lets say we all pay more money. what makes you think, this extra money will be spend on FFXIV? FFXIV is known for spending less with making as much as possible, I reckon even if they get more funding, it will stay the same.
So I would pay more if this was to be used to improve FFXIV and SE proved it/showed that they are spending those extra funding for new FFXIV stuff, but since companies dont do that, I tam fine with paying the current subscription fee.

What more content are you looking for exactly? Can you provide examples?
We already get patches out more regularly then most games.
I don't mean anything specific. It could be more character customization, three experts instead of two, more vanity - maybe even unique savage gear, better textures, more furniture, additional running animations or even a developer specifically working on solving the greatest mystery of all time - "Why does your chocobo hate the Duty Finder Qs?"
The main reason why the Party Finder is not working for the harder content and so many groups disband after few wipes is caused by the players who ignore the comments.
Getting to the phase XYZ once does not mean you are ready to join parties to do XYZ.
Parties should spend most of the time doing the phase that is written in the comment not trying to get there.
Two dungeons is enough, what's the point of making three that just turn into faceroll content?I don't mean anything specific. More vanity is always nice so I'll agree with that, textures are bloat, unecessary and the game is beautiful as is. That would bea waste of resources to focus on making a game look pretty, just look how well it did for 1.0.
And honestly, the chocobo issue is simple. When you call a Chocobo, it has to be defined as a party member, but it's also defined as a pet/minion. This is done so you don't have a group of 8 players with 8 chocobos out for a total of 16 party members.
It's designed so that when you have a party of 8, you can only have a party of 8.
The issue with the coding however is Chocobo's are defined as a party party. This is where it gets a little ugly though. You can't make the assumption that when you DF with your chocobo out the only scenario you have is 1 person with their chocobo.
If it was just that, then they might be able to release it already. They would just need to code it where When you A player are with your A Chocobo you are considered a solo queue for the sake of DF.
Another potential idea however is giving the leader the power to checklist who to queue in a duty when companions are out. When you queue in this manner a pop-up would appear. The ones who are checked to go into Duty with the Leader would say "Do you wish to Enter DF with "player name" Yes/No?" and for those who weren't checked it would say "You have not been selected for Duty Finder, is this ok?" Yes/No.
This would prevent the risk of potential exploits that could occur if someone were to leave someone out of a Duty via Party Finder for some reason and might be the easiest implementation of it.
The checklist would only show party members and not companions and it would put a queue on those who are checked off ignoring all other members.
Heck, they could take it a step further and introduce the ability to toggle yourself for solo queue even if you are in a party. So that even if you are in a party doing FATE to kill time, you can still go into Duty Finder. It might be the best way to implement a system that ignores other members without having to get into the nitty gritty of the code to retag how a chocobo is Identified for the sake of Duty Finder.
Dont agree with this at all. The game can always look better. People with systems that can handle should have the option for it. They already design things with the highest of graphics and then lower it down, so the assets are there. No reason for us not to have any type of higher end modes and yes I would love 1.0 graphics back thanks![]()
No, I do not want to pay an increased monthly sub. They get enough funds from subs and the cash shop. If they used all these funds exclusively for 14 instead of propping up their other games then they would not have any funding issues.
Then demand Square-Enix to give FF14 more money instead of taking it from the devs. The devs aren't fully in charge of where that money goes.
This 100%. Pretty much ends this conversation. They get enough funds from subs and the cash shop. If they used all these funds exclusively for 14 instead of propping up their other games then they would not have any funding issues.
