I think the future underwhelms me, mostly because I have been underwhelmed in the past.

For example, having the new dungeons, more main story and a conclusion to the Alexander story line should be enough for hype! However, the story for the main scenario and for Alexander has been pretty meh. I've not really cared about story in this game since feeling complete awe in 3.0. So, do I really care where they story goes next? Not really.

In 3.0, I found a lot of the jobs were sort-of ruined. I found most jobs fun in 2.x, but since 3.0 I've really only enjoyed SCH/SMN. I often like to jump around, tank once in awhile, melee here or there etc. Though, now I am stuck playing pretty much the same job consistently, as I no longer find the other jobs fun. I am hoping with 4.0 that Yoshi will simplify them as he said. I don't need the gameplay of the class to be complex, that can be done with the content.

So, I'm not really super enthralled with the story, nor the gameplay. That makes it really hard to be enthused.

That said, I'm sticking it out, as I continue to hold hope that Yoshi will not disappoint.
