I would rather they hold back content until it is 100% finished. The Squadrons should have released when we were able to take them with us into dungeons because now it just another venture which isn't needed right now. It's like Diadem they are implementing small changes now and rest later but I would prefer if it came together. Right now it just seems incomplete and i'm not a fan of incomplete content.
Squadrons would make sense in the lore too.
I mean, we will be able to have a new GC rank in 3.4.
What did you expect from getting promoted ? Just being able to get new items against your GC seals ?
Getting promoted grans you your own squadron guys!
From a lore point of view, it sounds great, and getting ranked in the GC allows to get new feature finally!
And if I can run through dungeons with my squadron, and avoid boring DPS dungeon queues in the future, I'd be even more pleased !
And also, if I can have my squadron bring me some crafting items, it would be awesome.
Because :
1) I never use my FC airship
2) I only have 2 retainers
I can understand that it doesn't look really good for hardcore players.
That's why it seems they added new features for you too : wondrous tails, Palace of the dead level 100-200.
And I'm pleased they released squadrons already, so that I'm able to level my squadron before they release the patch allowing to bring them to battle.
I'd have been really frustrated to get the complete squadron feature, if I had to spend several weeks levelling them before going to dungeons.
By the time you got your squadron to level 60, the new patch will probably there and you will be able to farm dungeons with them.

The best part of these complaints is that if they had created an in-depth AI system with this to use in dungeons and it was ready for 3.4 people would complain about dev resources being used on something pointless instead of more important things in demand.
ayy lmao
Personally I am not fond of replacing players with NPCs in dungeons if that's the route they are taking with this. It's an MMO not a singleplayer game and DF already makes other players seem like NPCs. More interactions with other people not less.
Another thing I noticed that looks kind of cool, is that it appears the squadron gets it's own training room.
But what if taking them into dungeons isn't the end of what they want to do with them (as so many seem to assume)?I would rather they hold back content until it is 100% finished. The Squadrons should have released when we were able to take them with us into dungeons because now it just another venture which isn't needed right now. It's like Diadem they are implementing small changes now and rest later but I would prefer if it came together. Right now it just seems incomplete and i'm not a fan of incomplete content.
Do we wait until other aspects of Squadrons are ready to release it?
If not, then they still aren't releasing it as "100%".
Honestly, you all should call it what is is - disappointment that a feature you want from Squadrons isn't available yet. Enough of this pretending like it's content released before it is "ready" when the criteria for it being "ready" is whether or not you like it.
At least, if AI is good, more people will be able to complete raids.
Consider it a Pre feature of the actual feature
I've honestly started seeing HW as the framework for the next expansion. Everything we're getting is stuff at its core level that will be improved on. While I would want more meat with the squads I do see the potential that can come with it.
When we go to reclaim Ala Mhingo we're no longer fighting dragons, but other people. That's a much better setting for us to take our personally trained squad out on missions. Like taking out camps in the open world, raiding supply lines, or other acts of aggression. But maybe that's just blind optimism.
