Here is (another) idea on how Diadem could have been made more interesting right from the start :
Diadem would be a new category in Duty Finder for a full alliance, 120 min max.
You could check the "Undersized party" to go solo, light party or full party.
3 free roaming flyable zones : Coerthas-themed, Sea of clouds-themed, Churning mists-themed
(Maybe even the zones themselves in an instanced version)
At 3.1 :
- In each zone, you’ll have several types of enemies. Each type can drop a pop item for a “rank C” notorious monster, killable solo. Each notorious monster would drop a specific token. You could trade a set of rank C tokens (One from each zone) to receive an upgrade allotment for a specific item.
For example :
Gelato token+ Paissa token+Golem token = healer body allotment
Oculus token+Obdelia token+Biast token = tank legs allotment
etc…At 3.2 :
- Each “rank C” would also drop a pop item. With a set specific rank C pop items, you could pop a “rank B” NM, tailored for a light party, that would also drop a token. With the proper set of rank B tokens (One for each zone), you could receive a rank B allotment.
At 3.4 :
- Once law gear is removed, a pop item would be added to every rank B NM. A set of specific rank B pop items would pop a rank A NM (Tailored for a full party), that would drop 2 tokens.
A specific set of rank A tokens (Again, one for each zone) would give you a rank A allotment.
- Once eso gear is removed, a pop item would be added to every rank A NM. With the correct set of rank A pop items, you could spawn the rank S NM (Only one per zone), tailored for a full alliance, that would drop 6 rank S tokens. A set of 3 different rank S token would be tradable for a rank S allotment.
With the corresponding rank allotment, you could upgrade tomegear (4 allotment for Acc/Belt, 6 for head/hand/feet, 8 for body/legs):
- Law : Rank C allotment
- Eso : Rank B allotment
- Lore : Rank A allotment
- Scripture : Rank S allotment
If they want to slow player’s progress, make it so that you could only obtain one allotment per day. But you could still obtain as many tokens or pop items as you want while waiting for the daily reset.
To prevent loot drama, the rank B, A and S tokens could be made role specific.
You could also put Anima quests to kill specific NM in those zones.
