"Hello, I'm auditioning for the role of Ser Aymeric de Borel, and I'll be singing Electric Chapel by Lady Gaga"

Personally I am waiting to see the crafted/Alex gear. Also wondering if these bland sets could hint unique/semi-unique (normal with some flashy animations) savage gear? Probably not, one can still hope tho.

I love the new tome sets! Sharlayan styled gear looks so crisp and clean!
But the default colors are just so dull... I hope the items needed to upgrade them aren't too nighmarish to get.

Both sets are very meh to me.
Please SE, get the artist who designed the High Allagan sets, confine him into an office and feed him with wet fries until he comes with sets looking equally as good as these sets were.
And dyable.
The current (3.3) Expert Dungeon gear had some nice looking things in it, but these are all just rather boring...
The only thing I might consider is the BRD/MCH hat from the Tomestone gear, if I didn't have a Wrangler's Hat.
Although... It might go well with the Best Man's tux...

Personally don't get the hate for the Scripture Gear. I think they look very crisp and refined, fitting for the Sharlayan Theme.
The new dungeon sets though are just awful! They're not new at all in fact! Just older dungeon gear, with the classes mixed around, and given palette swaps. I might have been able to deal with it, being able to wear some of these sets with other jobs, mix and match with some other sets for some cool new glamours...but the new colors are just awful, simply awful all around! What were they thinking?!
Honestly think it would've been nice to just make the Sharlayan stuff the new dungeon gear (Thematically fitting, given one of the new dungeons is a revisit of Gubal), and then had something else for Scripture. Maybe more Eikonic-themed stuff.

While I agree with you about the dungeon gear, I definitely disagree about the tome and High Allagan gear. The Scripture gear is nice and simple, no stupid spikes or overly fantastical elements to it. It largely makes sense, and looks better for it. Function without sacrificing form, in my opinion. High Allagan just has too much going on for my tastes, what with all the criss-crossing straps of leather on most pieces, but that's just me.
And yes, dyable gear is the best gear.
