The "extra step" at the start of the 60 relic has been nerfed already, it's just doing a handful of FATEs and you are done with it.
Absolutely not worth it to do the 50 relic for it.

But the 50 relic is very nice-looking, so you might want to keep it in mind to one day maybe do it for glamour
