Can I buy a house plot as a level 50 BTN? (Already am 2nd LT in GC)

Ok, so just wondering since I know so much is based on Story level and DoM/W class levels.. However when it comes to house buying. All I read is. "Need to be 50 in a class job and 2nd LT in the Grand Company"

Well I am level 47 WHM, just got my 2nd LT in the GC. So thats covered.

However my only job thats level 50 is my BTN. A gathering job. Does that still count for trying to buy a plot of land or will the game only accept a level 50 DoM/W class?

I don't know how Hyperion is, but the larger issue on Balmung is simply availability. All the lots have been purchased, so it's relatively rare that one becomes available AGAIN due to the original owner losing it one way or another. No level or rank will work around that issue.

Beyond that, I don't know. I was already a 50 Paladin when housing was first added. But if a lot is available, I'd just try.

If you're asking because a lot is not available but you may be able to make one available via means the developers likely did not really intend ... then, yeah, maybe someone else knows. But I don't.

Either way, we'll have apartments available later this month that should be far easier to acquire. =)

I'm surprised you got a DoL 50 before a DoM because the MSQ give a lot of exp and it's quite easy to level up a DoM (beside in HW you have to level up your battle class first to unlock fly
Because it's litteraly impossible to gather without fly)

not surprised at all. have a few sprouts on my friendlist that have doh/dols way higher than there main combat classes. the msq is crammed with so many junk filler quests that it makes it a real drag to get through so players go do something else instead..

one of my friends is 58 and hasn't even unlocked stone vigil normal cos the amount of junk in the msq is offputting so they typically only do a couple of quests each day then go do something they find more fun.

there's 45 quests between titan and garuda for example. and maybe 40 of them are junk that has no real bearing on the plot.

as for housing I never realised there was a level requirement or anything other than the quest to even enter the residential districts

I'm pretty sure the level requirement is 50 in anything, rather than specifically 50 DoW/DoM. But since I got that far in a couple DoW jobs before reaching it in my crafting or gathering jobs, I can't verify it personally.

If there's a plot available that you want, of course, you can simply try buying it and see if it works or if you get an error. (If you do try it, let us know the result for next time this question comes up.) But if you're contemplating paying someone to release a plot, I'd recommend getting your WHM up to 50 first, just to be on the safe side, unless someone can provide an answer that's based on direct personal knowledge.

(There's a lot of other stuff you'll want a battle class to 50 for anyway, since a lot of stuff unlocks when you finish the 2.0 MSQ.)

Not always. Level restrictions can go either way, depending on what it's for.

And thats why I was curious. Since it just says "Any Class" but knowing how this game doesnt care for anything not dow/m... is why I was wondering...

Wont matter, In a min Ill be level 50 WHM... but yea, still is a curious thing. As for BTN being 50.. I was bored and in the groove farming for my weaver lol.
