Well person can only own one apartment so like on Balmung they most likely will sell out right away so they will only be able to do it once (if they trying) and won't be able to go back and buy another apartment to sell cause they will be bought up already.
Indeed, that was the first thing that caught my eye. All the information we'd been given til now said 512, including official statements (unless I am somehow remembering wrong). With 90 per ward/subdivision that only adds about 6500 apartments to each server, not nearly as many as we were led to believe.
Where you learn to do math? 90 pre Ward 180 for both many and sub, x12 wards = 2160 pre town x3 = 6480 pre server. And that just to start, we know they will add more befor 4.0.
If it's only 90 per building, then I think we need a big fat community PSA strongly urging present owners of homes to leave the apartments for those without a house already. I mean, come on guys be fair. With only 6,480 per server instead of the original estimate (based on 512 per block) of 36,864 apartments, those without a home really need to be given priority.
Present home owners in Eorzea, please do not purchase an apartment during the 1st week of their availability at least. Give others a chance of owning their own space please.
Maybe on smaller servers but for places like Balmung all the actual houses and the apartments combined together doesn't even met half the population of the server. I have heard balmung has like 30,000 characters and even if you cut that down to say 20,000 that previous statement would still hold true cause all the housing and apartments combined together will only be around 8000 spots.
not exact math
I'm not sure that they did give that number. It was said that pricing between FC housing and Personal housing would be different with personal housing being more affordable (but still pricey). The specific number came from a number seen during a demonstration of housing features that was never stated as an accurate price, and was just kind of assumed by the community to be a price.
90 per ward? Then it'd be much more than 512 but of course when they said 512 that kind of thing is always subject to change...
and lol @ "Furthermore, it is possible to own both an estate and an apartment."...gonna be so many complaints.
You really need to stop throwing peanuts from the gallery.
90 is a really odd number. Normally the numbers are various powers of 2. So you'd expect apartments per block to be one of 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, etc... 90 just doesn't fit in that pattern at all, it's a really odd number. I have a feeling this is related to a instancing limitation of some kind and the number of 90 must represent the high watermark for the current server capability to instance. Perhaps in future the number will be extended.

I don't want to be mean at all and sorry if I sound like (english not my mother tongue :/) but do you really consider the idea that players will be fair and give those without a house a chance at having an appartement ? In THIS game ?If it's only 90 per building, then I think we need a big fat community PSA strongly urging present owners of homes to leave the apartments for those without a house already. I mean, come on guys be fair. With only 6,480 per server instead of the original estimate (based on 512 per block) of 36,864 apartments, those without a home really need to be given priority.

I mean, where were you the last time they add new houses ?
Of cours, just like you I hope some of us will be civilized enougth and won't act as *** but....I mean come on we all saw the Pfs ans the reddit threads :/
This community is so toxic and selfish some FC have more than 10 houses for re-selling at outrageous prices, how can someone think they will be fair ? :/
(Again, don't want to bee mean to you at all, i swear ^^")

People don't know how to take criticism anymore, and bad play is rewarded with with a coddling mentality. Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.
