No, Im not trolling, Im dead serious. If ff7 can have its Honeybee hotel or w/e...why can't Eorzea have its redlight district? Granted..accessibility may depend upon the age of your service account, but no, I r not ashamed to say I wouldn't mind making it rain for that pigtailed bigboned chubby lala after a hard day of monster slaying, or (if its your thing) that tanned nekkie roe beefcake!~

And if anyone objects to such content? Well...just don't go inside~ Hell..could even be instanced so you could have some privacy (wow..am I really typing this? its late >_>)

This game is for players age 13 and older.
I'm generally not in favour of content that is from the get-go meant to exclude certain parts of the playerbase.
I'd also not apprechiate having to verify my age with SE in general, considering how "well" they did with private information in the past.
And I have no interest in something like that being added anyway.
That's not even talking about the problematic nature of the topic in general, even in real life. I'd certainly not want that in a game that is accessible to kids, even if said area would not be reachable for younger players.

I really don't see the need for this.

And the ESRB rates the game as Teen (13+), in Japan it's rated C (15+). The game is intended for teenage minors to be able to play.

Being rated 13+ doesn't mean it's FOR 13-year-olds. It just means that anyone over 13 can play it. I'm pretty sure the majority of the player-base is over 13-years-old. As for having a brothel in the game, this game explores quite a few of sex-related themes, especially with the Ala Mhigan refugees in Ul-dah, the history of Dusk Vigil, and the girls of Costa del Sol. I doubt they will go as far as to make a feature out of it. The closest we'll ever get is that FATE in Costa Del Sol, where were escort that Mi'qote courtesan to meet a Roegadyn client at a cabin. That's as far as they need to go with that theme.

The Honeybee Inn was never "used" though. Yes ofc everyone knew what kind of place it was, but the player never went there on..."official business"

But that's exactly what the OP is requesting. It's not about the existence of prostitution as a vague idea in the game (because we already have that! plenty of it, to be exact), it's about being able to use "their services".

But it's a completely different story when you expect the GAME to include that. Because it is NOT a matter of "if you don't like it, just don't enter".
If it is included in the game, it will change 1. the rating and 2. the press coverage of the ENTIRE game.
Remember when GTA included a torture scene? You didn't even have to pick said protagonist and play through that scene, but that's basically all the game got reduced to.
I don't want people to think of FFXIV as the game for all the sad existences who need video game booty because they can't get the real deal.
I also don't want the game's age rating to go up either. And all of that doesn't even touch on the subject yet of how much of a problematic subject prostitution in general is...

On a different note, I do like your idea about a business that lets players work "normal" jobs for a bit! Seems interesting and amusing, mostly made me think of the part-time work in Pokemon X/Y.
There is absolutely no reason though why it can't be a normal inn instead of a brothel.
Weaving bedsheets, cooking food and beating up costumers who refuse to pay can all be done without the need to bring prostitution into the mix..

You should move to Balmung. We're - unfortunately - plagued by 'brothel' role-play and it is far from the tasteful sort. A simple look at the search info of players lingering in Ul'dah's Adventurer's Guild will betray why.

Oh gosh, I had no idea Balmung had such levels of RP. I feel sorry for the poor GM's that inhabit that server and what horrors they have endured

It's not as if you could interact with the Honey Bee Inn in its nature as a brothel in FFVII. You knew it was a brothel, but it's not as though you could act out being a patron there-of.

On the flip-side, it's not as though FFXIV is devoid of references and representations of prostitution. If you pay attention to the game's lore, you'll find it rife with sexual innuendo and the like. Pearl Lane in Ul'Dah for instance is said to be notorious for street-walkers. There's the FATE in Costa del Sol where you escort a courtesan who is set to "Entertain" a guest. One kind of retainer you can hire even alludes to selling her body among the list of services she'll perform on your behalf.
