What Makes An Attractive Character Attractive?

Hello everyone!

With the "Post Your..." and "Screenshots of Really Beautiful Characters" topics, it is clear many of us enjoy making characters who are attractive. But, what exactly makes an attractive character attractive? Is it simply a matter of beauty being in the mind of the beholder or are there specific traits that players find more attractive than others?

Without data, the question is unanswerable. So, that's what this thread is about. I'd like to have people post characters characters they find attractive then tell us what traits they selected in the character creation process.

The format of the information will be as follows:

Post a picture of your character first then post their traits below them.

Race, Skin Tone (X,Y) (starting from the bottom), Hairstyle #, Hair Color (X,Y), Hair Highlights Yes/No (X,Y), Face # counting left to right, Jaw Type #, Eye Shape #, Eye Color (X,Y), Odd Eyes Yes/No , Umbral Rings Yes/No, Color (X, Y), Eyebrows Type #, Nose Type #, Mouth Type #, Lip Color Dark/Light/None Color (X, Y), Ear Shape Type #, and Ear Size #.

Leave out Facial Features, Tatoos, etc... unless you feel it makes a significant impact in your character's looks. I know the above looks rather daunting but it's really just a matter of copy and pasting the format and going through your character's appearance in the same order that you created them.

It's hard for me to say personally. Attractiveness has a lot to do with the perceptions of the society/culture an individual is a part of and even their own preferences. It's also not limited to just appearance, but certain motions can be attractive as well.

Because of that last point, I think I can be attracted to almost anyone, though I do find myself averse to more conventional standards of beauty.


That is why I love Guydelot, not so much their appearance but just for this wonderful work of poetry.

You will probably hate me for poisting without giving a picture and traits, but i have to comment that I really like this idea. Of course beauty IS very subjective. i personally have a thing for asians, redheads, and lately short hair. But that's just me. Still, it might turn out that there are things we all like. Who knows. Yoshie-P might take all the data and create the dream guy/girl of the player base. (Assuming the end result won't be Thancred and Y'shtola)

The secret is hours and hours making characters and trying all combinations and finally fins something different mixed than any others and also beauty for example: the highlander of my GF, she seems really a midlander but, with more bubbies, and sexier curviline mixed with an angelicl face but half head shorter than my midlander:

It's really, really hard in FFXIV, because 99% of characters look like porcelain dolls.

And not many face options. So a lot of people's characters look the exact same, just different hair color. I haven't seen a character I was attracted to yet, but the guy on the first page with the grey hair looks nice.
