Passing the time during the tragedy

I... Once FFXIV went down I downloaded some other MMORPGs and started playing some old ones I used to play.

Vindictus - Downloaded and installed, haven't even started it up though.
Lord of the Rings Online - Haven't even installed, but I have the client installer downloaded.
Jade Dynasty - Been playing almost 2 years. It's such a terrible game... A PWE (Perfect World Entertainment) game... (Character name: Scabies) However, I hear they have a new expansion coming out next month, but the game is still going to suck. 10,000 posts on that game's forum and I feel like less of a person just thinking about it. Years wasted on a terrible game.
Forsaken World - I was in closed beta, but apparently it seems to be in open beta now (PWE games never leave Open Beta phase. Think of open beta as the finished product.)... I spent 9 hours looking for a party in FW today. 9 hours straight.... It has potential, but no one is playing it. The closed beta was handled terribly.
Loong - It had ugly graphics, so I stopped playing after 10 minutes.
Champions Online - I loved City of Heroes (4 years of subscription back in the day), but this sucks. Graphics are terrible even at max graphics... They really screwed up this game. The only thing I enjoyed was the Player vs Player vs Zombies instances, otherwise not worth playing.
I looked at a game called Eve - It looked a mess.
Rift - I hear rift sucked, and I'd love to find out for myself, but I'm poor. All of my $ went into buying FFXIV and Alcohol & Beer.
Battles of Immortals - I can't get past the camera being STUCK in one position. It's another screwed up PWE game. Just a tip, don't play any PWE games in the future.

I tried finding games, free-to-play and torrented alike, but I still couldn't find one worth playing. All the free racing games had terrible graphics. The Sims games suck balls. Halo is terrible and Half-life got boring. Counter-strike is for little girly-men, and I don't have a PS3.

So far, the only game I've enjoyed playing since servers went down is Parappa The Rappa, which I have on my PS1. I beat that game today and I don't know what else to do.


Since I don't have FFXIV to play, I'm finding that I'm drinking more alcohol than average and hanging out with people I think are hoodlums because they are my roommate's "drinking buddies", but I'm pretty sure she's just using them. I don't blame her for trying because I think she also agrees that they are unintelligent hoodlums. However, I'm not going to complain because they buy her stuff and then I in return get to use that stuff. Like last night, I ate an entire box of Godiva chocolates because she didn't want them and gave them to me, even though they were a gift. It was like gold. I had no idea those chocolates were so good. It could have been the alcohol that made me think that... I was really twisted.



I can't find a game as good as FFXIV. (Just a side note: I do acknowledge that there are issues with FFXIV, it's just that most of the other games I listed have zero plans on improving anywhere nearly as much as FFXIV plans to. Apparently FFXIV is a game where WE can have a say (at least just slightly, even if it's just a suggestion) into how things turn out. I am not used to seeing that type of thing since I've been playing Free-to-Play Perfect World Entertainment games for the past two years. (In PWE games there is little if any suggestions taken from the player base that is used to change the game. It is almost 100% Chinese player controlled and I dislike that kind of thing.)
...I hope Japan gets cleaned up quickly...

On the plus side, I hear there are some good movies out... Maybe I'll download one.

My roommate writes for a gaming review website and gets free beta passes to other MMORPGs. Some of them are seriously awesome, but not all of them are good. When she gives me a beta pass to games, she expects me to write a 1.5 page review on the game and I get to pick the games I want to review. I've written reviews for her and she paid me in alcohol a few times in the past. If worst comes to worst, I'll have to ask her for some games to play. It's not exactly something I want to do though as she says I'm required to write about each game I play 100% of the time.
