Yeah but the japanese players seem to like cute races. They win that. We win a race that looks more animal and less human. It's called a compromise.

I'm pretty confident we will get a bunny race, however I strongly doubt we will get Viera. It'll be a new race, with a new name, with new lore, that just happen to look like that. That's what we'll get.

Yes, because our options are pretty limited and it's frequent that for those who play the more populated races, you will run into your doppleganger. It doesn't help that the customization on most of them offers very little variety. Female Miqo'te suffer from this badly enough with two of the four face options being very similar, just that the nose/lips having a different shade to them. I messed with the character creation enough and it's pretty disappointing. Nevertheless, that's just one example out of plenty.

If I had to choose between a tiny cute rabbit thing or a Viera (which at least have the option for females not to be whacked with the cute hammer), my vote would go to Viera. If there was a third option, such as more character customisation options for the current six races, I'd vote for that.

We'd have to get new lore on them. Their matriarchal society has too many parallels with Miqo'te, and their jungle isolationist lifestyle is similar to Grid's Padjals.

I'm actually hoping the men are smaller. Not tiny, but like what Elezan women are to Midlander men. The men are still strong and built, the women are still the Amazonian towers we love.

They could reserve the Nu Mou for a smaller race. Viera are meant to be tall and lithe.

I wish they'd never implemented the stupid levels of dimorphism they did with au ra; the original concept for the females was better.

Yeah. They looked fierce yet elegant - and very similar to how female demons are designed in the setting. The men, at least, look fierce and elegant - when they're not designed with some of the more terrible facial feature combinations - whilst Au Ra women just end up looking like little shrimp to me in the vast majority of cases.

Between a new race and additional options for the existing batch of races I'd choose the latter every time. I assume it would be less work too - especially since designing a new base model would require every animation, emote and gear to be adjusted so that it 'fits'. If it is a race with animal features then it'd also come with unfortunate clipping issues as well.
