Final Fantasy Heritage

Final Fantasy is a huge saga. It has 14 tomes to my knowledge and a 15th one soon to arrive. There is more. I'm thinking of Final Fantasy Tactics. The job system in that game was extensive.

Do you think Square Enix would benefit from carying over some of it in FF14?

It's more so about how the jobs and skills can translate into use for here. What works for FFT may not exactly work here, granted I'd see Dancer working how Bard did via the constant self buff/healing of the team per turn as long as they continued to dance (per server tick). Granted I am sure their are others though I'm actually replaying it now for PSP, only like an hour in. Been years so no real info.

The options to change your job at will reminds me of FF Tactic now that i think about it. I know there's classes like Oracle or Time Mage which are just not in this game. I read they might be looking into adding Samurai, i just hope it won't throw gil like in FF 5.

I miss BRD from FFXI kinda. They didn't attack at all really, but damn, you sure as hell wanted one in your PT aaalll the time for everything, kinda sad such a concept just wouldn't work in ffxiv here, you couldn't even progress your main scenario considering you couldn't attack

A lot of the stuff that works for single player doesn't work in a mmo either.

They could bring back exploration like in other great final fantasy games i.e. ff6,8,12.

As of right now FF14 is just a copy of the Dragon Quest games.

I miss BRD from FFXI kinda. They didn't attack at all really, but damn, you sure as hell wanted one in your PT aaalll the time for everything, kinda sad such a concept just wouldn't work in ffxiv here, you couldn't even progress your main scenario considering you couldn't attack

A lot of the stuff that works for single player doesn't work in a mmo either.

I said it once, may as well say it again but TLDR; as I can.
- They can't do hybrids that well. [SMN/BRD]
- Should made a Musketeer/Ranger as a DPS.
- Should of made a Bard a Healer.
[Brd isn't actually a bad hybrid it's just...I dunno, we coulda a complete separate job to meet the needs of DPS and Support.]
I am just hoping IF we get Dancer it's a healer.

I don't actually know what ff11 bard did but i think it's standard in this game that everyone, even healers, get some dps to get through the main story.

Malefic 1 and 2 is already taken though. Perhaps Damage 1 and 2? :P

Oracle debuffs are spread throughout many classes. Astrologian is healer Time Mage with Ishgard flavor.

I have no idea how it would work conceptually, but I want calculator/mathematician back on principle. I loved nuking all the enemies (and myself? Accidentally on purpose?) based on their current hp, level, some shared stat...

I'd really like if more classic outfits from the franchise came out as glamours. Perhaps they could make a event for each class. Hopefully without all the grindy crap though.

White Mage: The actual classic robe, which is the one that the minion of light wears.
Black Mage: Vivi's outfit.
Dark Knight: Dark Knight Cecils armor. We have some of his other stuff, so it'd be cool.
Summoner: Yuna, Rydia, or Princess Garnets outfit.
Machinist: Rikkus outfit.
Ninja: We already have Shadows outfit as Ninja job gear, so I would give this one to Yufie. Another good option would be Locke Cole.
Monk: Sabin's garb.
Dragoon: Kain Highwinds outfit.
Warrior: Adelbert Steiner
Paladin: Cecil Harveys Paladin garb.
Astrologian: This is a tricky one, but I think Ace from Final Fantasy type 0 might fit.


possible future classes:
Red Mage: Terra, or Celes outfit.
Blue Mage: Strago's outfit.
Samurai: Cyans outfit.


Maybe the lore could be about certain legendary heroes, that are said to have once visited Eorzea, or a traveler that was said to have gone to fifteen different worlds.
