


Well we were 1 Platinum 1 silver and 2 newcomers, so that Platinum must have had a silly high rating as you say.The matchmaking, with all its deficiencies, still at least evens out the ratings on both teams, so either you had a super high ranked player or they had similarly ranked players. You won't get a situation where 4 platinum players get matched against 4 unranked players, it simply isn't possible. Now, it is entirely possible that the players skill weren't reflected by their ratings because they're late comers or don't play much and that's when matches are unbalanced. I think we all agree that's the reason why they should have kept unranked and bronze players away from gold matches. SE might have figured this was a lesser evil than long queues due to small player pool side.
