...and let them keep the xp they earn. This would be awesome.

Yeah, I look forward to them screwing up the mechanics on the final boss and getting me wiped.
Not in matched party, dude.
he means the chocobo getting hit by the mechanics and increase damage the boss does. you dont need to be in a matched party for that. its extra damage something like Second Wind isnt going to save you from.
but on the topic of companions, I doubt it's something they will do..
1) SE hates companions and will never let you add them to anything close to resembling an instanced area.
2) last I knew, they were going to be implementing some sort of ranking for solo clearing of PotD content. either companions would horribly skew that data, or it wouldnt count..... thus making them kinda useless- a "harder" mode for no extra rewards. greeeeat mmo design.
i dont count companion exp as a reward since a rank 30, outside of barding, gives you no benefit since they arent used in any other content
I'd like SE to address the actual usefulness of my companion(s) first before I have them arbitrarily slap them into random group content
I would love my Choco to come with me inside the PoTD that would be awesome.
Good luck with that one. lol
Chocobo's (Deep) Dungeon. They can also throw in a minion of Chocobo's CD form while they're at it, maybe as a reward for completing it with your companion chocobo.
Why not take Lord of the Verminion and make a mystery dungeon concept out of it? Instead of PvP, it's PvE real time strategy with your minions through a dungeon.
Why not make chocobos smarter!?...
They surely have bird brains but SE could make them real battle companions and make them usable in all if not most instances, using chocobos would still be an option since we are getting platoons which might fulfill the desired role!...
Chocobos should be like party members in Final Fantasy XIII and not the inhumanly trained birds they are in this game!...![]()
Chocobos use the same AI as monsters and NPCs, so I don't see them improving the AI anytime soon.
