Give some love to the smaller servers!

"Gilgamesh is the raiding server" has become a self fulfilling prophecy. Back in Coil and early Alex there were lots of teams on every server. Sure, some had more than others but even on slightly smaller servers we had a healthy amount of static raiders and reps. But as more groups split and more people quit, the number of statics and reps declined on every server. If a static can't find a rep and they don't want to quit raiding, their only choice is to move to where there are more people raiding. And the community more or less decided this was Gilgamesh. So Gilgamesh gets a huge amount of transfers to refill its statics and reps and a lot of the other servers lose. "Gilgamesh is the raiding server" is now true because the community made it true by stacking the server with transfers.

Cross server PF, if implemented well, will help a lot with the static and rep problem on smaller servers. But I can't see many people leaving the grossly overpopulated servers except to obtain housing.

SE needs to merge some of the smaller/less pop servers. Malboro has suffered a lot as well. The crowd that is into raiding/end game is dwindling down.

if i recall correctly on how the duty finder works, it searches for groups in the entire data center so que times for dungeons and PvP would still remain the same i would think. as for the problem of people migrating to bigger servers. i am unsure how SE could give people an insensitive to join those servers. anything outside of a server merge (which is out of the question unless some serious big changes are made to various things such as housing) would not be that effective in drawing people to smaller servers while bigger ones seem to offer more benefits.
