Chocobo companion timer. Is it really needed?

Really? So at rank 10 it only lasted 10 mins??? That makes no sense... I'm glad it's much better, for sure, but I still do not see the sense in that mechanic. Usually mechanics have a reason behind them, but that one feels out of place. It's just weird. As a gold sink with greens being so cheap it makes no sense. So it's just a mechanic that to me does not fit at all with the game...
