I had hoped that my imitation of Pinkie Pie poor though it was, might have been clear enough, but perhaps not.

Certainly, calling out Balmung as you have is not feedback, though it does seem insulting.
While I concur that the potshot at Balmung was totally unnecessary, there's been a good amount of subtle mudslinging coming from the "pro-formula" side too. Implications that we're entitled first-worlders, or bitter, angry people who make others "feel sorry for us" because we're offering feedback re: a recent producer interview on a platform designed solely for player feedback...

It's all crap, and it all needs to go. Discuss why or why not you like patch stability/predictability, or your thoughts on other topics in the interview, not these nonsense generalization turdposts about your debate opponents. (Rhetorical "you" here in case that wasn't obvious.)

I am actually wondering what Yoshi P. was talking about when he said this:
"However the development team is currently creating something similar to the content you suggested. Something like having a gigantic monster popping somewhere and you need to have an alliance to actually beat it.
This kind of content that we are creating is a new idea but I must say that something like affecting the map by your actions, like a meteor falling from the sky and hit the ground like you say, that could not happen.
We are trying to make a similar content so please wait for more details and announcements in the future
    ."
Was he talking about the changes to Diadem or something coming in 4.0?

I have a feeling Alexander could end up turning into a FATE in 3.45 depending on how they end that story. The remnants of Alexander's Primal energy could remain and end up being a FATE similar to Odin.

The patch predictability isn't the main problem imo. The problem is the monotony that comes with it. The next patch we get a new tome grind and a new expert roulette. Then we have to run those same 2 dungeons at least 7 times a week to cap because there is no other efficient way to cap. Result, we get bored with the dungeons super fast.

The dev team has yet to learn that running the same thing over and over and over is not fun. Giving us multiple ways to cap tomes efficiently would make the weekly tome grind less painful.

In 2.x I loved Lost City of Amdapor. Then I had to run it nearly 50 times to get a relic drop. Now I never want to do it again.

Mechanics, I wish they'd get rid of the wipe the entire raid because one person screws up mechanics. Punish the raid for the screw up, but don't wipe. Create a situation where a talented group can overcome the screws up and still win, and a less talented group would still wipe.

The setup in 2.x was fine. I felt 3.0 would start to take the game to the next level, instead in was 2.0 all over again with some new story. If 4.0 is just another rehash of 2.x and 3.x then I think people will start to walk.

Or you can do things with your dungeon runs to cap your tomes for the week instead of forcing yourself to grind only dungeons. There is more than one way to idle in Idylshire you know.

You could if you did nothing else run expert 6 times a week to cap at 450. I'm not sure what you play but I cap well before needing to run expert more than 4 times a week and I cap tomes on multiple accounts each week. Void, Weeping, 60 roulette, Hunts, and so on. Many of my friends cap tomes running POTD in addition to other things. To try and infer there aren't multiple ways to cap is really not accurate.

Some people will probably leave because of the cycling of the content but IMO many will come back when they see it's not as great on other theme park style games. I mean sure other theme park MMO's don't have a particular cycle but it still ends up being the same thing. Dungeons, story, raids, side activities and try to think of new ideas while doing so. Also you will end up doing the same stuff over and over again in those other MMO's as well. The thing is none of them give people as much of that content mentioned above as FFXIV and in good quality as well. FFXIV is trying some different things though and we don't know what 4.0 might add to it.

Odin was already a FATE since ARR day 1.

Perhaps they are working on instancing part of a zone as an 'open world' monster hunt with free roaming bosses? I'm thinking in terms of something like the northern 3rd on northern Thanalan and multiple spawns of things like chimera, and other similarly difficult bosses, heck you could throw in Primals with a few modifications to their mechanics. It could scale for 4, 8 and more players. I've always wanted them to do this kind of content since it almost gives the open world danger people want, but does so without affecting the zone for players who want to do other things.
