Is it possible to offend someone...with a macro?

I agree with the above, as funny as you might think it could be,
Just substitute your macro with something like above.
While the death may or may not be your fault, and its 'just a macro',
having to hear that if it occurs multiple times does not give a good feeling to you or your party.


most people fail to realize that their definition of 'funny' is at the uncomfortable expense of others,
If i were a DD and a healers raised with "Sorry you died under my watch. I'll try not to let it happen again." in a 24 man raid multiple times,
Id find that funny.
But i dont think the healer themselves would feel much happy with that scrolling mutiple times.

I did not really mean for it to be funny...but..esh....did not really think about it during a big raid. In a small, short 30 minute group where it would only be used once (or a small amount of times) it would come off as being humble. --It's a quialty I think players can appreciate in a group.--


But yeah, in a large, long-going raid, seeing that message...it could bring down the confidence of the healer. As well as the groups faith in that healer. Just from seeing the words "I'll try not to let it happen again." mixed with word association, each time that macro was used the group would read it and think 'You must not be trying very hard."

But funny ones can boost party morale as long as it's not aiming to blame anyone.
If I was a healer (which iv never been in any mmo. Too much pressure) mine would be "Like a Viagra, my Raise will Erect you"

I think raise macros are useless in general (by the time any half-decent healer reads your text they've already at LEAST used Swiftcast, if not outright cast the rez themself), but they're just plain obnoxious when someone insists on cluttering them with "clever" text that you then have the misfortune of trying to ignore for the rest of the run.

PS: I actually stole this macro from someone and thought it hilarious. So I do not take credit for creating it.

Someone could say this to be offending too...because a tank will tell you he's about to be debuffed and you're being smart by saying
you won't do it. See now I don't say jack when I rez, but I have a sense of humor and there are some cute/funny ones.
But I mean some people really do get their undies in a bunch about the tiniest of stuff. I'ma just be silent forever lol.

Why do you have to use a text macro to rez ?

Pressing the skill(s) is enough and as mentioned by the time you press the macro and then the skills, your co-healer ( if any) has already send out the rez so you are purposedly losing time when rez just because you want to sound interesting or to make a show off.

Might want to rethink a bit why you do some stuff and if it is really relevant as I see it, no macro is relevant unless it serves the group purpose and a rez macro funny or not doesnt at all. Just me though

And the whole point of a raise macro is generally so someone else doesn't start raising the same person. Raise macros are one of the few macros you should have.
