I'm so tempted to make a Tear glamour from TotA and macro my Stone II to "POW HAMMER!11 <se.6>" after this.

healing macros I find are hilarious "just a min, turning ____ into a zombie" but its when that raise macro turns into spam it starts to piss everyone off or just generally annoy the party. there are usually healers who are quite tame throwing out the text macros thats alright but then you got those 5 sentence text macros with the <sec.6> that just keep filling the chat during Weeping City usually from Summoners.

I was in a group the other night, and the healers macro when picking up one of the dps was something like "{targets name} As comical as you look on the ground, I need you to get up and get your shit together"
And a few nights ago when I died in group, the healers macro was "{targets name} Get up. Your suppose to be important"
Tho they are probably not meant to offend, I do think they can bring down the groups morale....and considering the healer is suppose to keep group members from getting killed, a better macro might be something like "Sorry you died under my watch. I'll try not to let it happen again."

I agree with the above, as funny as you might think it could be,Tho they are probably not meant to offend, I do think they can bring down the groups morale....and considering the healer is suppose to keep group members from getting killed, a better macro might be something like "Sorry you died under my watch. Just substitute your macro with something like above.
While the death may or may not be your fault, and its 'just a macro',
having to hear that if it occurs multiple times does not give a good feeling to you or your party.
most people fail to realize that their definition of 'funny' is at the uncomfortable expense of others,
If i were a DD and a healers raised with "Sorry you died under my watch. I'll try not to let it happen again." in a 24 man raid multiple times,
Id find that funny.
But i dont think the healer themselves would feel much happy with that scrolling mutiple times.
FFXIV Since Sep. 2010: Selbina/Ridill/Excalibur (Mergers)
Currently moved to Leviathan
I remember the Alpha days when even breathing lagged you

I did not really mean for it to be funny...but..esh....did not really think about it during a big raid. In a small, short 30 minute group where it would only be used once (or a small amount of times) it would come off as being humble. --It's a quialty I think players can appreciate in a group.--I agree with the above, as funny as you might think it could be,

But yeah, in a large, long-going raid, seeing that message...it could bring down the confidence of the healer. As well as the groups faith in that healer. Just from seeing the words "I'll try not to let it happen again." mixed with word association, each time that macro was used the group would read it and think 'You must not be trying very hard."
But funny ones can boost party morale as long as it's not aiming to blame anyone.
If I was a healer (which iv never been in any mmo. Too much pressure) mine would be "Like a Viagra, my Raise will Erect you"

Ask yourself this.
"Are the words I'm putting in this Macro representative of what I would say anytime I use this"
If yes: Then ask. "Would saying this to anyone be offensive in any context."
If yes: Maybe don't use it as a macro because you understand flinging insults willy nilly isn't a good habit.
If yes but you feel people are too touchy: Examine your bridge as you haven't been collecting enough toll lately.

This post needs to be liked more. It's my exact stance on this matter and people shouldn't be so ready to dismiss it for the sake of avoiding consequence.Ask yourself this.

Makes me think back to the XI days with my rez macro. "[Raise] <t>" Sweet, simple, and only intended to let other players know that I'm hitting them with it so they don't have to waste time/MP lol.
Of course they can, I've seen some funny ones, like "no sleeping on the job" and someone even used a Aqua Teen Hunger Force as their Marco it was "Arise chicken...Chicken Ariseeeeee" and a South Park quote "Dying is bad mkay." But I've also seen some where they said "Looks like I have to slap some sense into you, get up" and at one point a player took Smokey the Bears qoute and changed it to "Only you can prevent dying idiotically"
Those last two imply that it's entirely your fault, which in some cases it might not even be so, on a shareable stack mechanic the player you're supposed to stack with might run away from you, if you're tethered they might just stand there thinking you'll break the chain, I can think of others but the point is not every death is entirely on the player.

My rezz macro is "unlike your dad I'm willing to raise you, <t>" and occasionally I get angry daddy issue messages.
So yes, it is extremely possible.
