And the whole point of a raise macro is generally so someone else doesn't start raising the same person. Raise macros are one of the few macros you should have.there is a question that you should answer
Why do you have to use a text macro to rez ?
Pressing the skill(s) is enough and as mentioned by the time you press the macro and then the skills, your co-healer ( if any) has already send out the rez so you are purposedly losing time when rez just because you want to sound interesting or to make a show off.
Might want to rethink a bit why you do some stuff and if it is really relevant as I see it, no macro is relevant unless it serves the group purpose and a rez macro funny or not doesnt at all. Just me though
Raise macros are extremely helpful when doing any content with more than 1 healer.
When more than 1 person is dead, we need to know who is going to raise who, especially when one of those people has Swiftcast on cooldown.
Even WITH a Raise macro, I sometimes encounter a healer who will use their swiftcast to raise the person who I am raising without swiftcast, when my cast is almost complete. If they had read my macro, they would know to instead raise another dead person OR focus on healing while I complete the raise.

when I see a healer manually rez a player while aoes fly all over the place, I will use my swiftcast + rez (if up) and I dont care if a macro was used or not to tell me said healer was rez someone that he/she was not in full condition to do effeciently whereas I am. He/she can interrupt his/her rez and maybe save his/her skin and me the hassle to have to rez said healer because well you know during those 7.5 secs where he/she need to stay static + the 2 seconds it took to send out the macro some aoe might hit him/her. My goodness this is not a very good excuse you gave

Someone could say this to be offending too...because a tank will tell you he's about to be debuffed and you're being smart by sayingI actually have a counter macro for Berserk macros. *ahem*
/p I see your Berserk Pacification macro and acknowledge your suffering.
/p I do not plan to cleanse you.
/p I can make noises too, check it out. <se.2> <se.12>
PS: I actually stole this macro from someone and thought it hilarious. So I do not take credit for creating it.
you won't do it. See now I don't say jack when I rez, but I have a sense of humor and there are some cute/funny ones.
But I mean some people really do get their undies in a bunch about the tiniest of stuff. I'ma just be silent forever lol.

I have nothing against a rez macro itself. But why do we need such long text messages with it? Just using the auto-translated skill and the <t> for the players name should be way enough information for the other players to know that they don't need to use their skills. Maybe a little text like "wake up <t>" or something but some macros are way too long.
Putting "..." and lame in your raise macro can make it sound accusing to some. Yes you can offend people with the smallest things but sometimes it would be better to look at oneself and ask "could this in any way offend anyone?"
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Well, since a text macro is essentially just an automated way of sending messages to your group, I would say yes, of course it's possible to offend someone with a macro. Just like you would if you had manually typed it. Just because you automated your "funny" insult doesn't mean it's not rude.
Well my rez macro goes "Dammit <t>, quit tanking the floor!" And there was only a drg that got all pissy lol

When playing with other (random) people, it's never gonna be fun if someone points out a mistake you've made and announces it publicly with the party chat by mentioning your name in conjuction with the event that happend. In this case death. However, the message the healer uses in order to make this fact know can add more salt into the wound. Even if it was meant as a joke, the person on the receiving end might think differently about it. Macro's are meant to assist people in informing your fellow party members about certain things, but there are people who tend to overdo it by adding a whole paragraph worth of text into it describing the action they are performing (like chanting a spell, or requesting assistance from a divine being to ressurect a fallen member), inserting a joke or down right insult them with it (for instance a 15 line ascii drawing of a pig flipping off someone/the party and adding an insult in text about handling mechanics).
The text itself doesn't have to offend people to be offensive, the matter in which it is used and the excessive use of it can as well. For instance, i was just in a duty with a warrior tank who used a Berserk macro that contained the following:
I don't mind a tank informing me that he used Berserk and that he will be pacified soon. I'll gladly Esuna him/her as a healer. But, i don't need 3 verifications that he has the Pacification debuff as well as multiple sounds per announcement. 2 or 3 lines with 1 sound effect will suffice.BERSERK USED <se.1> <se.10> <se.6>
Pacification in 9 seconds <se.6> <se.1>
Pacification <se.1> <se.10> <se.6>
Pacification <se.1> <se.10> <se.6>
Pacification is up <se.1> <se.10> <se.6>
This is more then enough for a Berserk macro... Really.BERSERK USED <se.1>
Pacification in 9 seconds <se.1>
Pacification is up <se.1>
Also, everyone can make a mistake and press a macro before the skill is ready for use, but if you spam it, its really annoying...
Macro's are here to assist people, but please... Don't overdo it.
