Elitist Attitudes in Expert Roulette

I understand that people have been doing the roulettes for a while now, but when it comes to duties, you've got to realize that not everyone is on the same level as you are.

I recently ran into a Duty in Sohr Khai with a tank that wanted to get it over with. We did the normal mob pulls and mob wave clears, but when we got to Moglin, that's when things started to get nasty. I wasn't getting much help trying to get moogles out of their circles, so I could only get like 2/3 out in time. However, they complained about the 2nd revival(which was not my fault; Tanks can help too by using ranged abilities like Shield Lob).

After that, the tank stopped tanking and said that they were done and gave up just because of a minor mechanic. I even told them "don't give up"(which is my motto nowadays in XIV) even if they were queued with other people. Even then, they just sat there doing nothing while me, the healer, and other DPS tried to beat the boss without the Tank bothering to do anything. Failed, but afterward was what made me really mad. They scolded me for not doing my job, even though I was doing it to the best of my ability. After that, report for harassment and was dismissed from the party.

I'm sorry to hear you had trouble in a very easy duty like Sohr Khai.... honestly.... this game just has so many players with badmouths. Idk, I've come across more on FFXIV than any other game I played in my life. In fact... ffxiv has caused so much drama in my life over the past 2 years.... it is crazy. But yeah... for future instances like this, I'd just leave or at least say "get off your high horse"

Yeah, tanks tend to be the biggest drama queens of the game. It's embarasssing. Whenever I encounter one I initiate a votekick and it goes through 90% of the time. Don't want those people to think it's acceptable to behave like trash human beings.

Agreed they cannot blame you if they didn't help

As much as i tend to not help for adds (only killing) as Blmi cannot afford in opener to run our of leyline and push them
So I expect the heal and tank to do so.

However if i happend to end my enochian and in ice rotation and they struggle for adds i will gladly help
People not willing to break their game to help the group are ibdeed

I beg the differ, every time I am on my blm doing adds isn't a problem. I've encountered multiple runs where blm's think that they can not afford doing simple mechanics because of their leylines. Here's how I see it, when I am on my main, and see that you're not doing adds, I take a good look at my parser. I'll not say a word if you're reaching the numbers you're supposed to reach, but if people and that's mostly the case in DF are way under their numbers, then there's no reason not to do the adds no matter what class you're playing.

After that I mostly kick the blm for their ignorance since I feel that if they can't be bothered as your answer above states, I can't be bothered to run with people that half ass their job and then sit there, finding excuses why they didn't do the adds. Leyline in your case... dumbest thing I've ever heard, you know where the adds spawn, position yourself that you can do both.

At least these elitists are the minority, and I would bargain that they probably don't find too much enjoyment in this game. I personally have a pet peeve against elitist tanks and I try all the time to go against that stereotype.

It's sad how people expect everyone to know everything or have watched a guide for everything. I mean, do you really need a video on how to do a level 20+ dungeon? and most of the time, mechanics can be explained in one paragraph. People berate newbies for not knowing anything, yet they'll lash out against anyone actually trying to explain stuff to prevent wipes.

So you use a parser to decide who to kick? The official rules don't apply to you, yet your arbitrary rules apply to everyone else?

This is the reason SE won't add a proper parser anytime soon (or ever). This exact attitude.
