Macro - Cross Hotbar Real Estate/ [Casual/Comfy] Tanking [Paladin]

    /micon "Fast Blade"
    /merror off
    /ac "Fast Blade"
    /ac "Sheltron"
    /ac "Shield Swipe"
    /ac "Spirits Within"

The idea with the macro above is you'll be able to use Sheltron, Shield Swipe, and Spirits Within in-between global cooldowns mapped to one button. (You can swap the last three skills in any order if you wish)

Hopefully after using Flash, use the macro to start off Fast Blade. Immediately after Fast Blade, Global Cooldown will take effect. During GCD, keep spamming the macro to activate Sheltron.

Then proceed...i mean keep spamming Savage Blade or Riot Blade....
When Riot Blade or Savage Blade finishes, you'll be on GCD.

Again, during GCD, spamming the macro button will kick off either "Shield Swipe" (if it's procs) or Spirits Within.

Another idea if you use the cross-hotbar is to put Sheltron, Shield Swipe, and Spirits Within on Hotbar 1; maximize Hotbar 1 on the HUD to 140%.
Reposition Hotbar 1 as you wish. Now you'll know if you can SPAM the macro again.

An issue I see with this macro is you can't specifically time when to use an attack within the macro.
Like if you need to Silence an enemy with Spirits Within immediately...
And macros may not be as quick as using skills normally.

In conclusion, this macro will save you real estate on your cross hotbar while giving you that comfy daily roulette dungeon run (For Paladins).

My real estate saving macro is one that rotates the buttons in my main hotbar between three different hotbars. That way, all my combos are set in only three buttons, while reserving everything else for other things.

    More detailed explanation:

There are only two buttons you can press after Fast Blade. These are Savage Blade and Riot Blade. The key for Savage Blade is macroed so that my main hotbar switches to hotbar #7, which is almost identical to hotbar #1 except that it has Rage of Halone and Royal Authority instead of Savage and Riot. Similarly, the button that has Fast Blade in hotbar 7 is macroed so that it goes back to hotbar 1 after starting the combo, which means I have access to Savage and Riot again. The button for Riot Blade sends me to hotbar #8, which has Fast Blade and two buttons with Goring Blade (for a lack of a better application).

So, my hotbars look kinda like this:

    Hotbar 1
    1: FB, 2: SB>changes to HB7, 3: RB>changes to HB8, 4:Shield Bash, 5: Flash, 6: Circle, 7: Shield Lob, 8: Provoke etc

    Hotbar 7
    1:FB>changes to HB1, 2: RoH, 3:RA, 4: Shield Bash, 5: Flash, 6: Circle, 7: Shield Lob, 8: Provoke etc

    Hotbar 8
    1:FB>changes to HB1, 2: GB, 3:GB, 4: Shield Bash, 5: Flash, 6: Circle, 7: Shield Lob, 8: Provoke etc

Hotbar 2 and 3 are used for CDs that are on a timer, spells, etc. This way you're using only three keys for 6 skills!

The macro can be a little bit inconvenient at times if the target moves away and you press the button but don't hit because the target moved, which prompts the hotbar to change and for you to lose your combo, but it's mostly a bad luck scenario that shouldn't really happen in controlled situations.

You should never, ever macro GCD skills like Fast Blade. It means you can't queue them so there's a delay between every GCD, which is a very bad thing because it means you'll get less attacks in over the entire fight.

You can minimize this by repeating the gcd skill line in the macro, but Fernosaur isn't suggesting she actually macro gcds. It's a gateway system. Press the macrod skill -> immediately get teleported to a similar, but different hotbar that has the real action where the macro was -> queue up the action naturally. It's a pretty effecient system that allot of players like, myself included.

Yeah, the skills themselves aren't macroed to follow one another. I still queue them manually, the only thing the macro does is switch the hotbars around. The macro does have a 1.5 ish wait time for the hotbar swap however, precisely so I can buffer skills before the GCD is over. I'm used to spamming the shit out of a skill key before cd, which prompted untimely hotbar changes while I was working these macros around.

    It's p much this:

Could you give an example on how to set it up? I feel very lost right now. Thank you

So this is the real recipe to get that 700dps in SwO.
