PS4 PRO and FFXIV Graphics and Framerate Patch

Looks like consoles are still trying to imitate what PCs do.

Funny thing is I dont want a gaming pc. I simply want to grab my controller turn on the console and play a game. I spend all day fixing computers and helping with network issues....ect. I don't want to come home and have to tweak settings to get the FR up or whatever. 4K experience with top notch graphics in all honesty means absolutely nothing to tired and blood shot eyes.... xD.

Unless a person does not already have a PS4 why would person want to spend another $400 for slightly better specs then what they already have.

If they were thinking about picking up a second ps4 for reasons and may as well go for the tweaked specs if they'd prefer a slight power boost over a new slimline model.

I'd rather fix my PC than dealing with consoles. At least I can manually fix my PC, unlike when my PS3/4 decides to screw me and it doesn't let me do anything beside 4-5 recovery options and forcing me to format the hard drive just because some small issue.

My TV is Ultra 4k HD (Sony XBR-65X900B) but this telly does not support HDR. Will I see the difference if I buy PS4PRO? Knowing that my TV doesn't support HDR?

With consoles, when you put a game in, its optimized for that system. It will run at its best possible settings, capable of the console by default.

With PC's its not always the case. Sometimes you have to tweak games settings to get them how you want them, or in some cases to get them to even be playable. And if you have a lower end Pc, that rules out a great number of games you can play, or requires you to do extra tweaking to graphics/settings in order to get it to play.

Consoles are more limited in what they can do, but they are the easier simpler route. Plug-n-play basically. Both console's and pc's are good at what they do, for the people that need them for those reasons :P

Unless devs start dropping a ton of exclusives on it, this kind of upgrade is just a cash grab.

Wich is, for me, still better than the huge middle finger that would be releasing PS4 games that work exclusively on the PS4 Pro.

Yes. Frame rates of existing games will be better at the very least. Patched games may render to 1440p scaled to 4k, and new games will go even further. HDR isoptional, but supported, it won't hurt if your screen doesn't support that functionality.

Well with the PS4Pro being the same jaguar processor and and pimped up GPU i wouldn't really expect any improvements. MMO's tend to be CPU bound for performance. Not worth me getting the Pro IMO

Lol, so the bump in CPU and memory clock is no help? The jaguar core will have neede some work to achieve a die shrink, so even if it's jaguar, and not Zen Lite are rumored in the spring, there should still be som enhancements. The GPU uses Polaris cores, so in addition to doubling the number of cores and boosting clock speed the new GPU cores are enhancements over the existing ones. Balanced with a faster data bus and clock, the improved through-put will be an additive benefit for overall system performance.

When you more than double your PC's GPU performance is it not considered an upgrade?
