Yoshi hinted at releasing a chart that shows which materia can be obtained from gear... can we have it yet?
I know some people have compiled some data for the community, but it would be nice to have a definitive list.
Thanks much.
HERE IS THE REP RESPONSE:
Hey everyone,
I think what the OP was referring to was the quote from Yoshida in the recent GamerEscape interview where he said:
We poked Yoshida with your cries of "where is it!" and he let us know that they are working on it and will be releasing it in the Play Guide section of Lodestone in the future. We appreciate your patience! (Don't worry, it's not forgotten!)

Community Rep, poke Yoshi for us, eh?
wait, what is this compiled data you speak of?
Yoshida mentioned releasing a type of chart (probably similar to how the crafting recipes is laid out) in due time, since materia has a lot of variables, it's likely something to be done with a lodestone update since it's a lot of work to do and will take a decent amount of time to finish.
No. He's referring to the compiled data that Reinhart was making... it's on Google docs. I don't have the link right now.Yoshida mentioned releasing a type of chart (probably similar to how the crafting recipes is laid out) in due time, since materia has a lot of variables, it's likely something to be done with a lodestone update since it's a lot of work to do and will take a decent amount of time to finish.
I think they were asking about the data on community sites, which I havent found, even asked my ls about it and they said there wasnt anything because its too random.Yoshida mentioned releasing a type of chart (probably similar to how the crafting recipes is laid out) in due time, since materia has a lot of variables, it's likely something to be done with a lodestone update since it's a lot of work to do and will take a decent amount of time to finish.
you mean this?

TBH, I'd rather not have it. It's one of those aspects of the game that the players should be left to figure out on their own via trial and error...
The reason people want it is because right now no one will convert +2 or +3 gear to try to get say an attack materia 4. because there is always the risk of getting something like a MATT materia 2 which is complety useless for them.
if the game were a real world, and for the sake of lore well pretend it is, materia would be real also. So materia in a real world would have real variables and these variables would have been documented be people, making them common knowledge. That being said there no reason why we shouldn't have a chart to see. Its like the periodic table in, people document that sort of thing.
So basically if you dont want to see it, dont look at it.
