Recruit a Friend and Free Trial Question

Hey, I have a Friend I have been trying to get to play for a while, he said he'd be willing to finally give the free trial a go this week, but I'd also like to do the Recruit-A-Friend thing for the perks if he sticks. Will there be any conflict? -- Also how long does the free trial last?

We would be starting on a new server (for me at least) since I'm currently on a Legacy server, and those have been closed for some time :P

You won't be able to do recruit-a-friend until your friend has purchased the game and registered it to their account. You will be able to recruit them until their free 30 days are up (the time that comes with purchasing the game) or they pay their first month, after either of those your friend will no longer be able to use a recruit-a-friend code. So, just have them apply the recruit-a-friend code to their account once they register the game. They shouldn't conflict as far as I know. The free trial lasts 14 days if I'm remembering correctly, can't seem to find it on the Free Trial page though :/

Also know that:

1. Balmung allows character creation far more often than many people think. It's inaccurate to suggest it's been closed nonstop for a significant span of time. Perhaps not practical to go to special effort to try to catch it, though.

2. The paid character transfers seem to either bypass character creation restrictions or are just good at catching intervals where it's not restricted ... but it seems that's technically also an option to allow your friend to play on Balmung. Again, perhaps not the most practical, however, as it would likely require the character to be at least three days old and have the game purchased.

Largely depends on how attached you are to your Balmung character, I suppose.

I had no idea about the small gaps about sneaking in, however I'd not like to try and over inconvenience someone with something like that I'm trying to get to play, more so when they are already disgruntled with how SqEx has carried on with the Final Fantasy series in general :P -- I am still planning on playing both characters, as I am perpetually unemployed and have more time xD

Also, regarding legacy servers...it definitely depends on what data center you're using. Hyperion is a legacy server on Primal and it's usually always open for new characters. Of course, as soon as I say that watch it be off for like 3 days or something but :P
