    Just started playing again

Hey guys, I just started playing again and I want to start maining a DRK but I haven\\'t played the class in a very long time. It\\'s level 60 but I\\'m nervous about doing dungeons since I forgot how to play it. Are there combat dummies anywhere that I can practice my rotations and learn the class again before tackling a dungeon/raid? Thank you for your time and help!

I'd say you can just roll into dungeons and see how far you can go. It's good for more experience whenever you can anyway.

There are plenty of resources for DRK if you want to see it via forums, reddits, videos, etc. Note to yourself though, you should take the guides with a grain of salt since you are still practicing.

Yes, there are dummies in many zones. There's some right outside of Idyllshire. There's also dummies in W. Thanalan, Central(?) Shroud, and Central Coerthas. I'm sure there's one near Limsa as well. The city ones are located basically near the newbie quest camps. You'll probably also find a few in every housing zone in peoples' yards.

What you can do is what I did, go through each of the low level dungeons individually. The game ranks up in difficulty with dungeons anyway, so just go from Sastasha all the way up. Do them multiple times, and look up Youtube vids for each one before you go in there. A lot of the earlier ones are very easy (coming from someone who suffers from tank anxiety who loves her DK but hates tanking for people) and straightforward. I'd say also do the guildhests too, they help a lot with getting used to mass pulling.

Very sound advice. I recently got over that but it's not easy. Take Aamalthea's wisdom and make it happen!

When I found out about Guildhests it was a wrap.

    First, welcome back!

A lot of the advice in here is sound. There are multiple dummies out there for you to practice on, and you can also get used to tanking by tanking some HW FATEs with your 'bo.

What I'll suggest for rotation is to alternate between Delerium and DA-SE once you've established enmity, as it'll give you good numbers and make managing your MP a lot easier (while also keeping up the Delerium debuff). Don't feel bad if you can't DA every C&S either - sometimes I've found it's more useful for the MP you get back from it.

Practice using Sole Survivor, too. It can be really useful for recouping some MP off an add during a longer fight (which means hey free DA).

Do stone sea sky and use SSS calculator to see how you're doing. Bear in mind that a full on dps rotation is quite different from a hate rotation, not just in the skills you use, but also your mp management. Also you need to make sure you remember the mp order of priority for your job (Single target):
    1. Keeping up darkside
    2. 2 uses of Dark Passenger per minute
    3. A Dark arts Carve and spit once per minute
    4. Dark Arts Soul Eater with remaining usable mp (without dropping you to critical low levels)

Also bear in mind, that in some instances, using DA for a defensive cool-down takes priority over everything (specifically with Dark Mind on magic tank busters)

I just started playing in general, picked up war, not realizing it was a tank class. I used to play a tank role in another mmo for several years, and ran Sastasha yesterday. Everything seem to go quite well. My question is, is there a tank class thats best for beginners to the game? Playing on a PS4 with a controller if that makes any difference.

PS: sorry for posting here, wont let me post my own thread yet

warrior is indeed the easiest tank for beginners, because he generates more enmity than paladin and gets his tank stance at lvl 30 (paladin is getting his tank-stance at lvl 40).

but starting with paladin is probably better, because it is more difficult in low lvls, so you have to learn the tanking mechanics better ^^

also you will need the cross-class skills from paladin, especially provoke. so you have to lvl paladin anyway.
