How much "output" stat do you need to get additional gathering chances?

Has anyone done any testing on this? If trying to max output on my miner gear is not going to be enough to add any additional gathering chances, then I may as well try to maximize perception instead.

I'm a level 35 miner at the moment.

Hamster, you're an adder - I recommend picking up a Gridanian Doublet from the Order. The +20 Output will generally do it for you, but feel free to tweak with other things like gloves for a few more points to get the extra attempt if that doesn't do the trick.

This isn't tested, but I've got the feeling that it's around 25-ish in output.

But maximize Gathering before you maximize Perception once you start mining in Grade 5 areas - chance of success isn't something you want to neglect.

The GC store will sell you anything you want if you have the seals, have the required GC rank, and, if it's Unique, you don't already have one in your inventory. Whether or not you can use it is your worry. You can buy it whenever, but you don't have one of the six classes it requires at the required level of 25, you won't be able to equip it.

Seems the max amount of gathers you can make at a node is 8, so once you have enough output to get 8 gathers, it's best to pump up some other stat.

I tested it Renta its Output+20-21 for 5 attempts @ level 35. If you want 6 attempts your gonna have to go past my output+48 to find out, it's all I could muster up with the gear available at 35.

Just to state.. im not sure the output number for lower levels.. but at lvl 50.. minimum Output 115 will net you 8 attempts

To be exact, it's actually 114.

It might be different for BOT or miner.. or even depending on base stats? I fully tested this about a week ago and 114 was still giving me 7.

/shrug My testing was done at the beginning of March, and I can't give firsthand info for miner, but after posting the 114 number on BG, I got a response from a 50 MIN that came to the same results.

I didn't test base stats either, so you might be onto something there. Not a huge deal either way.
