    Update on Housing Reclamation

    http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...5d347171c939d9

Basically what we expected, the timer's turning back on. However, there's one little catch:

For players that have not accessed housing during the suspension period.
The auto-demolition timer will resume from the time remaining as of Thursday, April 21, 2016 at 3:00 a.m. (PDT).
Please be advised that the timer will resume immediately after patch data is made available during the scheduled maintenance for patch 3.4. Because of this, there is a possibility the auto-demolition timer may expire for certain estates before maintenance has ended.
Which means that the timer has been recorded all along, so if people haven't visited their house before that time, their 45 day timer will be much shorter. I.e. if you'd last visited your house 30 days (May 21) before that, you'll only have another 15 days to enter your house before it's demolished. And naturally if you haven't visited your house for even longer, it could be auto-demolished before maintenance is even over.

Isn't April when they paused it? They're basically saying that it was indeed just paused and the timer didn't reset when they hit the pause button. If you did something to reset the timer during the pause period, your timer will be reset. If you did not, it will resume at where it left off before they hit the pause. If your house was just about to be demolished before the pause (and you haven't done anything to reset it) then your plot will likely be obliterated during/right after maintenance.

How many you guess won't even pay attention to this notice and then come to the forums on or after the 27th and make post about how they lost their house?

    Many.

What I want to know is, what is the email situation like for these people? Did they get an email after April 21st that said, "Your house is set to be demolished, but auto-demolition is on pause so don't worry about it."? Are they going to start getting warning emails now, and get them over time until the patch? Are they going to get 15 emails in their in-box on September 27 and have no time to react?

It's right in the lodestone post. They will receive emails leading up to the unpause.

I'm not so sure they will, because the timer won't start running again until 27th, so the alert emails won't get triggered either. They'll unpause the demolition process and it'll realise it's past the 45 days for some people so will instantly demolish those houses. Whether or not it does the email check after the demolition check will depend on if they get emailed as well (although since the email would say "your house is going to be demolish 10 minutes ago" you would hope it wouldn't and would just say about needing to get items...)

As Risvertasashi mentioned, it's in the announcement itself so notices should go out by the 17th:
For those players whose estate will be prepared for auto-demolition within ten days of the scheduled maintenance, an e-mail notification will be delivered to the e-mail address registered to their Square Enix account.

Well does say the timer will be reset to 45 days if they have entered their house during the time it been on pause.

For players that have accessed housing at least once during the suspension period.
The auto-demolition timer will be reset for the following players:
Free company leaders and members who entered their company estate at least once.
Private estate owners who have entered their company estate at least once.
If person couldn't been bothered to enter their house least once in 5 months then don't really feel sorry for them and emails not really going to matter all that much.

Sory, but that's not how I read it (from Lodestone)

the timer will resume immediately after patch data is made available during the scheduled maintenance
So it's being turned on again as soon as the patch goes live.

Because of this, there is a possibility the auto-demolition timer may expire for certain estates before maintenance has ended.
If your house has already gone past 45 days at this point, it will be demolished.

Within ten days of maintenance is *after* it's happened. So if your house is due to be demolished within the next 10 days (Sept 27th to October 6/7th?) you'll get the standard 10 day warning email (or less warning if there aren't 10 days remaining, but no warning at all if it expires before maintenance starts).
