It would be a pretty big slap in the face to legacy players to make stuff they were promised as exclusives suddenly available to everyone.
As has been stated we have our own chocobo and Goobbue mount so it's not like other players are being left out entirely.
I'm missing 1.0 exclusives, ARR pre-order stuff, some soundtrack minions ect but life goes on.
YOU COULD STILL BUY THE THREE MONTHS SUB TO GET THE ITEMS. You couldn't get all of them but hey its better than nothing. So what about new players? They didn't play the game during a certain time, how is that anyones fault? There will be new chances for new rewards and if they really want certain items the mog station is doing a bang up job of putting once exclusive items up for real money. And where are these people, exactly? Who says it is strictly anti-fans of 1.0 who want the items? What about the people who couldn't play? Or newer players who never had the chance? Your argument is based on a hypothetical group of people that in reality is likely very, very small.
Allow me to put it in a simpler way. FFXIV - Square Enix, whatever - is a company. We are their customers. As customers, we ask for things that it is in their power to give us, and as a company, they provide it to keep us as customers. It is MMO virtual world, therefore real life rules must apply here too, because in this virtual world we deal with exactly same people and their desires/capabilities as in real world, and it is sad you have to be informed of that (even sadder that Yoshida must be informed that this is MMO, too).
It is in no one's power or interest to give you gold or diamonds.
I think I remember reading a quote somewhere......
(I already dont agree about veteran rewards begin "unfair" btw - this mentalty of "I need to have EVERYTHING right now!" amd always looking waht your neighbour has to make sure you dont get screwed over is just... disgusting. Believe me, its possible to live and play without Zidanes outfit for 3 years...)
Don't look into your neighbors bowl to make sure he doesn't have more than you, look into his bowl to make sure he has enough.
I never saw that movie. I not throw a fit I just ask for equality. Same as people in other threads?
It ok and fair to get 240i for no work? But ask for mount that only the "privileged" get is ok to start the inquasition?
SE is the company of this game. They can select who to keep as their customer. If there is somethjng they don't like and don't see it suitable they reject you. Some players will find a way to continue purchasing the goods or other just leave. There will be more people and coming and leaving and returning. That is the cycle of demand and supply.Allow me to put it in a simpler way. FFXIV - Square Enix, whatever - is a company. We are their customers. That logic doesn't fly. I understand you are a paying customer, but that doesn't entitle you to have anything and everything that you THINK you should get.
These things were given out for a reason. Things like event prizes and rewards, even things from 1.0, those were given out to players that took part in whatever content rewarded it at the time.
If you did not take part in that content, you did not earn those items. If you didn't earn the items, there's no reason for you to get them. That permanently devalues the items for the players that have them, and is a huge slap in the face to them when they were told they were getting exclusive things.
You don't get things simply because you want them. Life is full of opportunities, if you missed your chance, for reasons in your control or otherwise, you missed your chance. Tough.

Okey. So, let's say I have legacy chocobo, that I earned somehow. All value it has is in exclusivity, other than that it's just simple chocobo with painting. And I'm also a customer. So, I ask SE to not to give this chocobo to you, because it will lose all value for me.Allow me to put it in a simpler way. FFXIV - Square Enix, whatever - is a company. We are their customers. But you want to have this chocobo really hard, because ... painting! So, what SE is supposed to do? Are you or me as customer more important to SE? How should they decide?
