Naming Companions

Hi there, my name is Dylan and I love playing FFXIV and the challenges it presents to a newer player like me. Recently though, I haven't been playing much due to the loss of my real life companion and poofy cat dexter :c. Originally I posed to idea if it was possible or the dev team had any plans to be able to name companions in the game in a regular ticket because it would make me and i'm sure many other gamers who lost pets smile to have their furry friends name on one of their companions follow them all over eorzea. They wrote back informing me of their sympathies and that at this time nothing was planned but suggested for me to bring the idea here to the forums. I am not sure if this is the place to suggest it being new but I just hope it can be considered because my cat was not a calico (like fat cat) but he was very cute like him and it would put a smile on my face to see his little name and him following me everyday when I play! First and foremost, sorry for your loss. Furry companions are definitely the best companions.

On topic, did you mean something different than naming your chocobo companion? This can be done in game currently.

No, I was referring to the smaller companions that do nothing but look cute and follow you around towns and what have you.

Oh... minions... Can't rename them.

But there are a fair number of cats in the Yo-Kai minions.
