The message system of XI was one of my favorites. this way if they are on another server, character, or even on tetra master, u could talk to them.
even people who couldn't pay for their accounts.
and if u arnt on, and they have something to tell u, they can leave a message for when u get back.

I think we're all over-reacting here. Did he say you will have to search cross server for an exp party? (which is way better than grinding in an instance?) No. Did he say you will search cross server for endgame content? I don't think so.

If you want to play with your friends and make new ones, it's not like you arent going to able to. You'll just have the option to quickly queue for something. If you really think that decreasing wait times in this game is a bad thing than you are crazy.

They could remedy this by letting you add people from different servers to your friendlist. That way, you can chat with them and find them easily for more group content.

I like doing stuff with my ls mates, but sometimes there's not enough people on to do group content, so this dungeon finder would help a lot at those times.

Nothing can ruin community except player attitude. Especially in a game that no one even talks in public chat, i have never seen such a quiet game in my life, believe me, the "community" with pretty much ls only line of thinking has already began to "destroy" the feel of ff.

dungeon finder in no way can destroy anything. it may open up alot of opportunities to more people who happen to be in very small ls.(yup those ppl are just as important to the game, sorry but they are) ^^ and for those in a huge ls, dont use this feature /solved, so why even be concerned.

i see no harm in it. use it and love it or choose not to, take the 2 min run to a dungeon with your friends only if you prefer. either is a win depending on your playstyle or preferances. choice is always there.

I know what you're describing but it may just be your world. On Figaro there are tons of people talking shouting and communicating outside of a LS. I do with people all the time. Made a few friends here and there and some are now in my LS. Now there are times when things are a bit quieter but that's what happens in a game lol everyone can't play all the time so there will be lulls.

That's kinda wild and something worth trying out but I wouldn't put my hope in dungeon-finder. Yes, I agree, it discourages exploration and the use of communication with other players. Anything that make it easy for a player to solo should be abolished because it's anti-MMORPG. Once people start soloing and doing their own thing the way THEY WANT FOR THEMSELVES without effort or sense of accomplishment (kinda taking the easy route) then they're just playing a regular Final Fantasy game (offline).

SE should just make a offline version for those types and we can continue with ours. Continue the fight for freedom!
