"Decal Texturing" will do the job.
No thanks. Leave my gear look alone. I don't want anything to show my gear damaged, we spend a long time on glamours don't want to mess up the look at all thank you.

So long that you can't spend 10 seconds to get it repaired. You life must be so very busy... ;D

PS3 limitations.
When this happens maybe actually have bare feet when we take our footwear off.

I always thought chest bandages would be really great glamour-- I mean MNK/NIN have handwraps already so why not?
But honestly if you're wanting all gear to show damage to be even halfway to believable they'd have to go over every single model and there's so much more important things SE needs to focus dev time on before stuff like this.

As much I would like to see this I doubt they will do it. They are already busy making new gears where they copy paste casters and ranged with same equipment with different color instead each one with theirs to the point of being even lazy to make primal gears with just 4 types instead of 6 so... adding even more the same gear getting broken seems like impossible.
Do you notice that just AF gear that come once a expansion is the one that get privilege of getting each job their own gear? Because they got a lot of time to make them, making same thing in every patch seems kinda hard.

With the low resolution of the gear in this game, it already looks damaged.
They did do this in Third Birthday.So, we all have been through great battles with god-like foes. though it's kinda weird that we come out of the fight unscathed. our skin without a single scratch and our gear in perfect condition (at least in appearance). so i was thinking maybe damaged versions of gear could be added. say you have your beautiful gear at 100% condition, and that when it reaches a 50% condition it would change into a damaged version of the same with maybe some damage on our character's body! it would be cool in my opinion. making our characters look less "extremely overpowered".
Great idea!
The only problem is then ppl will ask for glamour broken look gears.
Alternatively, it can make players lost their glamour effect when a gear is under n% durability. ^^;
