Cannot change name after purchasing name change

I transferred servers, and before I transferred I checked lodestone to make sure no one had the name I wanted already on that server. No one did. After the transfer it was asking me to change my name. It would not take the one I chose. (Which again according to lodestone, no one else had.) In haste to join my friends, I added a "T" to my name and figured I would buy a name change later.

I did that today. It still won't take the new name. I get the error " That character name cannot be used. Please input another." error code: 3035.

I submitted a ticket, they just responded saying "it falls outside the scope of our services." Now I have spent an extra $10 and still nothing.

Server: Balmung, Current character name: Leto Attreides, trying to be: Leto Atreides.

Again if you search Lodestone, there is no one with that name on that server.

Please help, thanks in advance.

The current owner of the name may have been inactive for a really long time and is no longer showing up in lodestone.

Edit: I should also say I took a break from the game for about 7 months and recall not being able to find my character on lodestone when doing a search.
