As much as I hate tomestones, its one of my only outlets for gear at the moment cause I have no interest in alexander styled raids. I'm an old beseiged/dynamis/sky/etc... ffxi styled raider where large social group activity was more fun and rewarding gear wise. Currently my only outlets are tomes, alex, and weeping city. Only 1 of those is fun to me and as much hate as weeping city gets, its my favorite thing to do currently other than EX primals which don't drop different types of gear. Still holding out for different kinds of content for 4.0 but new tombstone patches will continue to haunt me. I ended up saving a bunch of mhachi matter just because I didnt know if the next tome gear would be also meldable. Thinking about it relative to how long gear is useful makes me just want to sell V materia on the marketboard though.

Whats everyone else's thoughts? I know tomestome threads pop up all the times, but I'd rather SE get constant feedback on something like this if its going to be a constant factor in the game as well.

My honest opinion? I'm not excited at all. Not even in the slightest.

I'm not going to bash others that are excited, if you find joy in it, great! I'm Genuinely happy you are excited for the new tomes. As for myself? Well I stopped being excited about Tomestones three Tomestone types ago. I'll spend the tomes that I gather while i'm simply playing the game, but never again will I actively grind for them.

I will try to avoid tomestones as much as I can, will just prolly pentameld most of the HQ crafted gear and go straight into Savage but yeah, I will definitely need to get some for the BiS later.. poor me.

It were nice +- 2 months without roulettes for me.

I'm excited. New tomes is always new gear/items/mats/etc and cheaper old stuff.
I can understand someone doesn't like it but I don't get WHY they would. Power to you folks, no hate here.

Also I love wondering/seeing what new name the new tomes get.

There's a thread a little ways down in general discussion that calls them Tomestones of Scripture.. But last time I checked it (its been a few hours), they hadnt said where they got that name from.. So i'm not sure if thats confirmed or not.

I want to say the name (scripture) was said in the live letter, BUT it may not be its translated name or w/e. I like the name though.

Ah, sad part is, I already read through that and it didnt even click. Guess that answers that, Scripture it is.

Kindof goes really great with Lore actually.. Lore being the actual (i guess sometimes 'mythical') history, while Scripture usually represents a more religious history. And in the expansion that brought us Ishgard, the area that is both so riddled with both Lore and Scripture. Great way to close out the Heavensward tomes SE.

My excitement level? -9000

Get rid of the lockout and I wouldn't mind so much. It takes 10-12 weeks or more to fully gear a job in the latest Tomestone due to the lockout. I enjoy playing more than one role/job in this game. It annoys me how this system holds me back from being on par with current level.
