Class changing, are we unique?

Honestly, the two of them are super cool about it, but spreading the craft of Sharlayan Astrology is their goal, so having a dutiful student in our character makes their day.

I always think that whenever we complete job quests and get new skills, when the text says something like "crystal resonates" that means the soul crystal bestows upon us skills of old i.e skills that have been discovered by the soul crystal's previous owner and been recorded inside the crystal. BoTD and its related skills fall on this category so I believe that the skills are quite common among high level dragoons.

Blood of The Dragon in my opinion, is tapping into the the power of dragon inside, which actually makes sense if Ishgardian dragoons can do that because

Every Ishgardian has Ratatoskr's blood in them.

As to why WoL can use BoTD, I never notice it implied it's because of our link with Midgo though of course I may have missed it, but isn't it possible that somehow somewhere, we have dragon as ancestor? Or maybe someone in our line committed the same crime Thordan I and his knights did?

I feel like pointing out, that while you resonate with the job crystal up to 50, post 50 job quests give a different message, I know BLM is new spells translated from the books of Nald'Thal and WHM is caused by your white magic growing stronger as you fight the taint.

Broken Mountain went from being a Warrior to an Arcanist or perhaps a Scholar between the ARR and HW Warrior questlines.

Frey, despite being a Dark Knight, is also by all accounts extremely well versed in conjury. To the point where apparently Sid believes

that if the Ishgardians had let him keep his staff instead of forcing him to use his greatsword, he'd have won the duel that cost him his life.

That's two examples I can think of.

So, there. There's nothing particularly unique about changing classes. It's no different from choosing a new career, and learning all about it as you go along. It just happens that the WoL (and possibly those with the Echo) learns faster than the average Joe.
