because you showed off your rig, I feel compelled to show mine (I don't have a picture with FFXIV running, but it'd look like ass with 3d on anyhow)
The difference between dvi and vga is SO small though. I can see it, but only if I squint and pay really close attention. At a glance or even using it, you can't tell without comparing it.

What I'm having difficulty deciding is what angle to put the monitors at. Strait across is just way to wide, 30 degrees seems to far in. Also trying to figure out what the distortion angle is for ffxiv, as stuff on the ends is distorted pretty well.

The difference is that without DVI (or hdmi), 3D will not function correctly. Since I upgraded my rig specifically for 3D surround, no DVI port would mean I'd have to replace a monitor.

Also what monitors are they? I've been looking at 120hz monitors but they're crazy expensive, and since I have 28" now, i can't go back to 21", so I'd have to get the asus 27" which are $650, and thus why I'm enjoying my current monitors.

Honestly, it's more of an issue that you'd be going from 1920x1200 to 1920x1080. Hell I won't even use a monitor at 27" unless it's 2560x1440

yikes, I wouldn't even go above 1920x1200 unless it's at least 30", everything just looks too damn small at that res + screen size for me

Well the problem with that is they don't really make 1920x1200 anymore. Cheap 27" panels are 1920x1080, where the dot pitch is just too large for me. Good 27" panels use 2560x1440, and pretty much all 30" panels are 2560x1600, like mine.

I understand what you mean, but I like having more area due to the higher resolution.

I know, my heart sinks a little bit more by the lack of 1920x1200 panels every time I check out new monitors.
