I'm trying to understand how you can do this entire setup under $1500. Three decent LCD monitors alone would cost $600, then you factor in a dual SLI/Crossfire setup with whatever's the equivalent of a GTX 560, and that's already $400+. Did you have to cheap out on the other components to fit this within a $1500 budget?

The lcd's were $600 tota, $200 each, which I've had for over a year. The GTX580's were $250 each, I sourced them from craigslist. CPU/mobo was just under $300, ram $50, off newegg. If you keep your eyes open, there's deals to be had.

Then there's a decent PSU, a HD/SSD, the case, aftermarket cooler, optical drive, etc.

Did you salvage the latter parts from your old build?

Yes, though eyefinity apparently. I was unaware of how it worked until recently.

I do think eyefinity looks decent, i just dont have space for 3 monitors and a led tv in my room, so I play on a samsung led 37" tv so i can play both PC and watch blurays on the same screen.

I've had 3D surround running for some time, I agree it f'ing rocks!

I hate having more then 1 screen for games. It's actually annoying to see the edges.

I had mismatched screens for the longest time, but worked towards common screens. At $200 each, they're not much more than the 19-22" monitors, and well worth it IMO.
