Thread: Halloween Event request (Ring vs Grudge)

So um....I know its gonna sound rreeeaaallly silly but, can we have a ring vs. grudge event?

Take 2: - I'd rather not talk about it, but October is coming up and I saw this awesome movie on youtube. Eorzea technically doesn't have any tv's regardless of their aircrafts, automated turrets, magitechs and other controversal stuff but maybe Sadako (Ring girl) can come out of a crystal or something. And Kayako (Grudge lady) can immigrate her refuge in the old hermits hut in Outer Lanoscea like she's always been there but no one said anything. Also make em T-rated, yeah rated r w/e.

Anyways, I'd rather have more spooks than pranks on these October events and I think it'd be a nice change for once. If you ask me, Edda is the least scary character in this game. She's just sad when you think about it. The fact she carries a severed head isn't really that creepy, but seems more of a need to cling on to what she has left (even if its plain barbaric). Not like we ever heard of her family anyway so it make sense.

So Ring/Kayako event. Or something equally spooky. Tired of the flashy wannabe funnies on these events. Even the Pumpkin head guy or whatever is really getting boring. Oh no he's plotting something, ahhh.... Thats not scary or setting a tone. He's talking in the background while I run around doing holiday fetch quests. Ok, rant request done.

Actually, if we're going by the original book the movie is based on, Sadako can manifest herself in any reflective surface. It's just for the movie that they had her come out of the TV to add some weirdness. Kayako isn't really bound to the place where she was murdered either. She can been seen in many places during the movies.

And well, Edda isn't really creepy, but neither is Sadako if you know her backstory. Kayako on the other hand is pretty vengeful though, but it's somewhat understandable.

I just imagine it'd be amusing to walk around Eorzea to find some guys face all messed up from her and we investigate (Not like Hildabrand's faces lol). Also I need to watch the japanese version of the Ring at some point. Heard the American version didn't do it justice. :/

The remake wasn't bad really, obviously the effects were quite a bit better. The original Japanese version had a way smaller budget, but I prefer the original. There's also a Japanese sequel, which I didn't like that much, and a prequel which shows the backstory of Sadako. Prequel is loosely based on the book as well.

The book isn't really horror, it's more of a detective/thriller type of story with supernatural elements. Still a good book though, I actually just finished re-reading it a couple of days ago, and currently going through the 2nd book

I was never into that ring/grudge stuff. I would however like a ghost busters event to take some revenge on the yo-kai.

Sony wouldn't agree unless it was the latest Ghost Busters movie, in which case Oh God Nooooo. I'd be all on it if it was based off the originals though. I outta check what they have on the spook factor in japan. Maybe a Death Stranding crossover :O

an Edda ghost storyline would be epic for Halloween

All I want for Halloween is the Thriller dance.


Runner up would be "emotes" that let us shapeshift as we have in past events whenever we like. It would be temporary, like 30s-1m amd would be broken by entering combat mode or by drawing your weapon.


I don't think I'll get shapshifting but need to shiver... for no mere mortal can resist..... the awsome of the THRILLER!
