XIV team: Please clarify "will call" ticket protocols

I have a similar question to this ---

My ex and I had a falling out last week, but I was the one who paid for our tickets. (He was being lazy about paying for our flight and I ended up paying for BOTH my flight and the reservation.) So due to some personal drama and laziness on his part, he won't be coming. I made sure of that on the hotel reservation.

I just don't want the ticket going to waste either, so I had a friend of mine who plays FFXIV coming in his place. He won't be traveling far, so I figured it would be good to see him too. Thus, I invited him instead.

Even with my exes' name on the ticket (which I paid for), will I still be able to get my friend in without a problem? I have the QR code and everything. That will be coming with me.

I just don't want him being alone the whole weekend.

From what i understand, as long as you never gave your ex the QR code (and for some reason he flies there etc), he won't be able to pick up the tickets. Only you would be able to having the QR code and one person's name matching an ID. Then you just pick up both tickets.

Oh heavens no. I never dared. Plus, if he did fly there, he'd also have to justify getting a hotel room, which I sincerely doubt "he has money for". I paid for the tickets on MY ID and credit card. Thus from what your saying, I should be fine. Yay!! I just wanted to ensure that from the Community rep.
