If you are a good tank then you can hold aggro. If a DPS takes it from you and you feel your pride got smashed and rather walk off muscle beach in tears kicking sand than flex back, go play another class.

Even in low level dungeons if you aren't busting ass tanking then you aren't tanking. Think DPS pulling hate from you if safe past lvl 50? You're in for a world of pain from equally geared DPS in end game content.

Dont make wimpy therapy threads, wipe those tears and be a REAL TANK.

This isn't a thread complaining about not being able to hold aggro. It's when DPS decide to that they want to pull FOR the tank. There's a big difference. While it's not hard to grab back in most cases, it's still annoying and shouldn't be tolerated.

At higher levels, even more so as the DPS really can keep hate from a tank if they get some good crits and the tank happens to have things on cooldown. The worst if both DPS get crits while attacking 2 separate targets and you don't have provoke.

If I lose hate, there is a good chance its my fault, so I will make sure to take it back asap, yes DD can stack cool-downs so can my WAR

My pace in dungeons is fast DD will sometimes attack nearly the same time as i'm connecting to trash but that is fine.

If you pull within the 3-4 seconds while I may wait for a Healer to get ticks of mana, rebuff etc before a boss ( this is situational), good luck with that, your probably going to die before I remember how to snap aggro it back

    this is how I go when I've had enough https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6OxKDKJJoXI & https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M0sAVtOt2wA

Aww i'm sorry my provoke button is so far away from my finger lmfao.

Truth be told, and my honest opinion and I don\\'t mean to be rude by any means. But most dps who pull like that, are used to tanks who don\\'t waste time pulling and move as fast and humanly possible through a dungeon. I run with my fc mates and they do this even when they aren\\'t with me and complain about the tanks being terrible because they can\\'t keep up.

It\\'s a skill thing, a lot of people rush through dungeons and don\\'t take their time anymore since 9/10 either tank, or healer is higher level than the dungeon requires or is a alt of a skilled player.

And the only thing you can do about it, get better at tanking and don\\'t try and dwell on it so much, if they keep stealing aggro let them keep it and move on and when they complain, tell them to stop fighting you for aggro and move on, if they don\\'t like it, hot piss and biscuits.

Tanking isn\\'t something you get good at from swapping classes it takes time and everyone learns and their own pace

Yes this and one of the great advantages of a DRK is that you can sprint the entire dungeon unlike the WAR and PLD. So you shouldn't have a problem out running your group if you're using you sprints wisely.

Buffs won't do all that much if you've got weakness because of your impatience.

I'll stop right there on the spot and watch them die. I'm at 7000-ish runs of Dungeons with 90% as tanks. Trust me, assuming that you are not slow and able to lock enmity quick enough, these DPS that intended to be funny with aggro just need to die.

This very thing is one of the reasons I went with WHM as main instead of PLD back before Heavensward, though this time I want to try to tough it out with DRK since I love the playstyle and the animations ^^ Any advice would be helpful [as a healer if people kept doing this with the intention to be abusive and/or hurt the party, I'd just let them die...bad, maybe, but still..].
From personal experience before DRK I've had DPS and healer pull before me and I didn't have a problem because I would pick the adds up by the time I wobbled my bum over there. With DRK knight I feel a lot faster and usually I'm ahead of my group. 99% of the groups wait for me when something does comes up, but since I like to pull fast and lots I don't see this as a problem for me since I'm sprinting ahead of my group.

Letting you team member die because they pulled before you is childish and in no way promoting a friendly environment. Most likely DPS and healers that pull before the tank know what they're doing and can handle it knowing that you are on your way to pick up the adds just in time.

If DPS if doing great and healers have no problems then why does it matter? Is anyone dying? Is you healer being killed? Are you dying?

During the Anima dungeon grind of The Aetherochemical Research Facility. I played with a lot of OP AOE players that manage to snag one of the adds away from me, but a quick provoke and Unmend got the attention of the add.

Out of the 3 tanks DRK is the easiest to play and master and the most enjoyable to play since WAR.

If your having trouble with AOE players spam Unleash for a bit. Stun the Add that wants to run away from you and hit him with a Hard Slash > Spinning Slash > Power Slash.

Learn to build up your MP it will help you with the next pull so you wont hold the run up the group by waiting before the pull.

Here's a scenario for you. A DPS player aggros 1 of 3 linked adds, they all run on him. All you have to do is provoke > Unmend the one add that the DPS pulled then Unleash with you AOE on the group of adds that followed behind. You should get all 3 in one Unleash. Depending how out geared the group is compared to you and if they are doing AOE attacks or focusing on different targets just spam Unleash for a bit.

I've seen tanks only focusing on one add at a time when the whole group AOE'ed the entire fight. the PLD in this particular dungeon was out geared and loosing aggro, but when we told him to do his combos on all the adds the dungeon went smoother.

Don't give up because you had bad experiences, but learn to adapt to the situations, better yourself by testing out all scenarios that will happen to you. The longer you play as any class the more you will find out how much you can push your class to its limit.

I tell people to sprint as a DRK they tell me no. I ignore them and improve my dungeon completion times while maintaining aggro and providing DPS.

I believe the tank motto is "It will be a sunny day in the Void before a DPS player snags an add away from me"

if nothing works for you OP then i suggest this

Even in Raids the MNK, SMN or BLM will pull if its needed to keep their Buffs up and its totaly fine as long as they don't run away or around with the mobs. As a tank you should be capable to get the aggro very fast back. And i'm not talking about these trashy 24 man "Raids".

Yeah but they do wonders if you have a tank that just tanks instead of throwing a temper tantrum about who hit the mob first.
