I think rewards are time gated in FF14 to maximize player life with the game.

I spent the longest time in Void Ark trying to upgrade my law set on some summoner i never play. Ended up with my full right side in eso and i started on the left side with only the robes from void ark. Boots dropped today though.

My luck being that bad in Void Ark i switched. I went to work on Yo-Kai because i figured it was a limited time event and there was no real pressure to complete as long as i keep at it. 13 fates, 2 legendary medals with 4 weapons to go. I'm sure because i clear the regular medals between weapons.

A horse might go for the carrot on a stick but it would only take so long for a human to stop trying. What am i supposed to think here?

Welcome to the world of MMOs, they are grinds and a time sink.

The Yokai event will take 700-800 fates to get all the weapons, it is a average of 30% drop rate for the legendary medals.

As for the VA and WC it is all random luck, you can get lucky and get your drops quickly or it could take awhile.

I think if people are having fun they would play the game long enough to get the rewards. If grinding fates for yokai weapons isn't fun. The solution shouldn't be to make the yokai wpns need only 1 token and make the tokens drop 100%. The solution should be to make fates more fun to do. Or to give more than 1 objective for getting the weapons. This is NOT what the developers are even trying to do. The developers are just simply upping the drop rate on all the content instead of making the content more fun. Which is why people are getting "burnt out" regardless how much gear and glamour the devs are throwing at them.

If your not having fun doing 24 man raids and fates, im not sure how having yokai-themed weapon glamour is going to fix that for you.

If people give up on FFXIV because they couldn't get all the rewards from a seasonal event when it was clearly stated that not everyone will be able to get all the rewards, then they probably weren't that much interested in FFXIV to start with.

I think MMO gaming is mostly about how you manage your spare time and what you concentrate on. You cannot simply get everything in a MMO. Just find the thing that is most important for you and focus on it.

You could consider me nolifer, I am sitting at +- 8000 hours in the game (well while having social life, school, job and sports but whatever) and even if I would clone myself twice I wouldn't be able to do and get all the things I want.

Glamour and if you get all the weapons you get a 2nd mount. Some like collecting seasonal items and achievements, some people like collecting mounts, some people do it for fun, etc.

Monster hunter has some primitive system but the weapons are unique.

For a solution about storage you can toss them in an armoire. There should be one at the inn.

I don't actually follow the devs. I had no idea i was not expected to get all the possible weapons before the event runs out in october.

...so you basically want to turn every weapon into a relic?
You can use the weapon for a level 30 character or glamour, why does there has to be more? Specially to an event weapon like this thats mostly supposed to be a little gimmick...
If you want to "forge" a weapon: Pick up crafting. If you want to grind your brain out to make "a monster of a weapon": relic awaits!
