Just started playing again

I just started playing in general, picked up war, not realizing it was a tank class. I used to play a tank role in another mmo for several years, and ran Sastasha yesterday. Everything seem to go quite well. My question is, is there a tank class thats best for beginners to the game? Playing on a PS4 with a controller if that makes any difference.

warrior is indeed the easiest tank for beginners, because he generates more enmity than paladin and gets his tank stance at lvl 30 (paladin is getting his tank-stance at lvl 40).

but starting with paladin is probably better, because it is more difficult in low lvls, so you have to learn the tanking mechanics better ^^

also you will need the cross-class skills from paladin, especially provoke. so you have to lvl paladin anyway.

Thanks for the tip! Another beginner question, can i use cross class skills from more than one class at once? I only have 3 slots right now and im using only Gladiator, but pugilist seems to have some interesting ones as well

Classes can use cross-skills from every other class. they get up to 10 slots for cross class skills (every 5 lvl one slot until lvl 50). Marauder is a class, so you can use cross-skills from all classes.

Jobs only can use cross-skills from two specific classes (depending on your job). they also get only 5 slots for cross class skills (every 10 lvl one slot until lvl 50). at lvl 30 you will get your Job Crystal and your Marauder becomes a Warrior. a Warrior actually can use cross class skills from Gladiator and Pugilist, but no skills from any other class.
