Need help abandoning Main Scenario Quest

I need help abandoning a main scenario quest. I wish to challenge Tataru to Triple Triad at Camp Dragonhead in the questline prior to 3.0 and I picked up the "Coming to Ishgard" quest. That quest apparently makes her unchallengeable, and I cannot drop the quest itself to reverse the effect.

I submitted two GM tickets: the first was an automated response about the Active Help guide (useless), and the second was that it was out of the scope of GM abilities (also a pregen response). I do need help with the issue.

Please advise.

Sadly, you cannot abandon a main story quest. Not a spoiler but Tataru will reappear inside Ishgard after that though so don't worry.

Having said that though, I thought SE removed her as a Triple Triad opponent because of this reason? If that is the case, her cards have probably been given to someone else.

She will be there, yes, but that is technically a different NPC with slightly different cards. I've read on many sites that she is challenge-able if you don't take the quest I took. I never gave it a moment's thought, but then noticed she indeed had a time of day when she'd be active to challenge.

An official response either way would shed some light as to whether she's challenge-able or not at this brief interchange still.

It is worth noting that Tataru doesn't count towards the achievements for total npcs beat. So if that's what you're worrying about, you can worry no more. If you wanted to farm her for the Urianger card, you are out of luck however. Although Urianger isn't that bad to get from other sources.

Are you sure you could challenge Tataru before starting this MSQ. Since patch 3.1, you should not be able to challenge her, in any way:

Tataru is no longer available as an opponent for Triple Triad.
