I'd hope you can simply cancel / turn off auto attack while keeping the boss targeted. Like just tap circle once. If it actually requires you to completely un target that'd be a right pain in the assUnless there are multiple targets, controller players shouldn't find too much of an issue here either, especially at melee range. It will necessitate using Focus Target more often, or playing with distance more. However, overall this change will be a net positive once the players adjust to it.
That said, expect massive complaints within the first six months.
Though I have r3 set to /target <f> anyway.
you can sheath the weapon on gamepad with L1 + R1, should be easier than target and untarget and using L3 for sheathing the weapon (wich only works in standard setting when you don't have targetet anything).
